May go a bit further & say MK were crap. There supporters deserve a medal for keeping up there encouragement despite having a poor team.[/quote] Cannot disagree with that - well done their supporters. I thought Betteridge is a bright spot for us and Tetlow is improving all the time. Yes - where was Bolduc?

How do a team like the Lightning ever deserve such fantastic support?
How is it possible to play so badly and still win 6-2?
How the hell did Lapine ever play at a higher level?
How is it possible to miss so many chances in one game?

We might have been crap in the 2nd but we outshot them 17-5, we should have scored more than 1 in that period. In reality we should have scored more on the night, it’s food that we’ve seen our forwards grab some goals, Munson was unlucky to concede two. Take the win.

Slow start but got going and once MK's defence went wandering we picked them off easily.
The 4th goal where Betteridge pulled a move to get past 2 d men and then fed a perfect pass to Pither to roof it was a beautiful play and the highlight of the evening.
Great support from MK how on earth do they stay so motivated!? I can't even be bothered to chant when we win at the moment!

Poor 1st and 2nd, okay 3rd but only after MK started to fall apart. Overall a similar performance to the last couple of weeks except tonight our opposition were worse. Can't really argue with that summation. Where did Bolduc & Tvrdon go? Injured no doubt - perhaps don't fancy 10 hours on the bus tomorrow?! May go a bit further & say MK were crap. There supporters deserve a medal for keeping up there encouragement despite having a poor team. Yep both injured apparently according to the O/S.

Game lived up to my expectations for it. The half arsed Mexican Wave told the tale.
The impressiveness of the MK team and their fans was in inverse proportion to one another. Killeen was alright, but the rest was absolute junk. Edinburgh bad. To not only turn up at home to watch that, but to get in the car too, fair play to the fans for that.
We weren't a million miles better, but never looked like we wouldn't win after Perlini made it 1-1. Wasn't hugely impressed by my first look at Munson, as a backup he's OK I suppose but I'd want Garnett in against anyone else.

Almost 6000 there.....that’s all that matters. 😉 If you keep turning up every week to watch junk that’s what you’ll keep getting !

We aren’t the problem Iggy, of the 6000 there tonight I’d say 2/3 of them were there on a night out, they’re not bothered what happens, that’s the problem. Let’s not turn this game thread into another discussion on what’s wrong with the club though please.

Strangely enough there were loads of empty seats in the 'sold out' bronze blocks! Quelle surprise.......not!

It was good to see the rest of our forwards chip in with goals tonight, we didn’t have to rely on Guptill’s goals, although he was dangerous as always. We needed them to score to get some confidence back, especially Pither and Hurtubise.
Munson was unlucky with the two goals he conceded I felt, the first was a nice finish after some suspect defending, and the second was a very strange deflection. I’d personally start him tomorrow and let Garnett take both the Sheffield games.

I looked an hour before face off tonight and there was only ONE seat available in the whole of blocks 9,10 and 11. It’s been going on for many weeks now,it’s obviously Moran’s new tactic of.... A. Wallpapering the crowd he said he didn’t like to wallpaper. B. Make the Panthers fans buy the more expensive silver/gold tickets instead of the cheaper bronze ones.

I enjoyed the game after the slow start. Our attitude was right, throughout the game. We didnt have a bad spell like has happened recently. Pithers goal, niice. Munson did ok again. Lets hope the confidence is still there after Sunday's trip north.

To be fair, I'm sure I've changed my mind on a few things over the last 20 years. Other people may have changed their views too? What have I told you about using logic & common sense and being reasonable on here? Sorry. Too much egg nog. It won't happen again.

Better than last weekend but that’s not too difficult.
MK were poor but their fans were amazing. Never stopped singing and chanting, were fully behind their team throughout and stayed behind to applaud our guys off the ice too. A real credit to themselves, their team and the sport.

First period was a dreadful advert for hockey. It was really poor from both sides.I’d say it was a shame to lose Bolduc and Tvrdon at the end of the first but we looked better without them. I do not understand what Tvrdon was brought in to do for this team.
The second period was an improvement on our recent efforts. It was good to see us have sustained periods camped in the offensive zone and move the puck well. It would’ve been nice to get more than the one goal but we deserved to take the lead.
The 3rd had that bit of extra flair and clinical finishing about it. Great fun to end the game.
Tetlow and Betteridge were tremendous again. They are becoming 2 of our most valuable players in terms of their effort levels and consistently good performances.

First two periods were, for me, a dreadful standard of hockey. I was utterly bored watching.
Thankfully Panthers turned it on in the third were brutal and clinical against a poor & tiring MK side. Hopefully bagging a few goals and the victory will install a bit of confidence but they’ll have to play much, much better, especially in the first two periods, to get anything out of today’s trip to Dundee and the Sheffield games.

I thought the first period was pathetic, I think Perlini and Munson were the only guys due any credit after that. Even Betteridge, Olsen and Tetlow seemed off their game in that first period, but whatever Cherno said in the interval definitely worked. The 2nd period wasn't amazing, but much better than the 1st and from then onwards there weren't a large amount of mistakes and many players had the best game they've had for a long time.
Betteridge was superb, that assist on Pither's goal was lovely. Pither, had no luck at all recently and hopefully last night broke his curse. Farmer, 2 goals bringing his total to 9(?) on the season, great to see. Hurtubise, another who couldn't buy a goal recently, great to see him back on the goal sheet. Richard, hadn't been that impressed with him but he turned up last night. Guptill, how many penalties did he draw? I enjoy seeing his frustration when he doesn't capitalise on a chance too. Tetlow, that pass to Kovacs in the 3rd was outstanding. Shame Kovacs couldn't put it away.
The defence still looked off to me though, for MK's 1st goal I think it was Hughes and Lepine on D, both out of position and both caught flat footed. The defence doesn't have the legs to keep up with forwards.
Fingers crossed we take both points tonight and leave the streak of losses behind us.
