e Nottingham Panthers have secured the signature of 25 year old Canadian forward Dylan Richard.
After four years at the prestigious Penn State University in the NCAA, North America's top collegiate league, Dylan ventured abroad for his first season as a professional in 17/18 when the 6'1" centre/left winger joined Norweigan outfit Mangerlud, recording 38 points (22 goals, 16 assists) in 43 games.
He then moved to HK Nitra in Slovakia for 18/19 where he scored ten points (four goals, six assists) in 24 games.
Dylan joins the Panthers for the remainder of the 18/19 season and is in line to make his official debut at Guildford on Saturday night and his home debut on Sunday at the home game against Glasgow.
Meanwhile Tyle VanKleef has been released by The Nottingham Panthers, the club would like to put on record their thanks to Tyler for his efforts during his time with the team on his week-to-week contract.

I think it's pretty safe to say we can put the short bench situations of the past on the coaches shoulders. Rich is getting things done

interesting signing. will get more points than Vankleef but I was happy with Vankleef as a 4th liner/spare import.

What he means is,unlike previously our new coach isnt here for an easy life and isn’t afraid to bench or cut anybody !

He’s an upgrade on VanKleef for certain. He’s a third line player at best which is fine. Gives us depth and cover long term.
I fee for TvK as he didn’t do anything wrong per say but he wasn’t going to put points up in this league.

I meant more as an offensive unit, we look poorer since they’ve arrived. I’m not saying they’re at fault but equally they’ve not done much to rectify it either.

He played 2nd line centre for Manglerud vs Lorenskog in a game I saw last year. 1+1 on the night, 22+ minutes TOI and plenty good enough to do a job here. The game was somewhat livened up by the Lorenskog goalie getting a 5+G. Drew Schiestel was playing for Lorenskog also.

If he comes in with the form he showed in Norway then he’ll do bits for us. Always good to add a player who can score goals. As others have said it’s unfortunate for VanKleef but if a better player if available it’s a no brainier.

Be interesting to see who will get dropped to that fourth line? Although they haven't had the points production you cannot fault their effort, unlike some of the 'better' players.

I liked Vancleef as a 4th liner he was a grafter. This guy looks a solid 3rd liner. Credit for Cherno in looking at areas where he can improve .

"...when the 6'1" centre/left winger joined Norweigan outfit Mangerlud..." All the right letters, but not necessarily in the right order...

What number will he be wearing? As you’ve seen him play before who do you think he will be on a line with, is he a two way forward or more of a natural goal scorer?

Goodness knows who he'll play with, the lines are pretty fluid at the moment with all the injuries. I'd say not Guptill's (keep the goalscorers apart), maybe play him with Hurtubise? It'd be nice to see him get his set-up man mojo back. Stats say he's a decent goal scorer, it's hard to tell much from one game where I wasn't paying him much more attention than anyone else. He was -3 on a pretty average Manglerud team last year. Range was -17 to +6 (and the +6 led the team by +4). www.tv2.no/v/1285535/Here's goal for you. At least he'll be wearing a better uniform this weekend...
