Do the highlights speed up on the video towards the end (from 5.48) for anyone else? It all looks a bit Benny Hill to me, I've never seen Biggs's feet move like that before... Definitely, nobody skates that fast. 😀

Believe me it was a first class goal, I sit perfectly in line with the goal line, and couldn’t believe they were even checking it out. Good match up tonight, nice to see a bit of Physicality, and can we have Olson please. Have to take your word for it, if you saw what we saw on the numerous replays and what the refs were looking at you would have had your reservations . Hard fought match that one. The refs see an overhead camera I believe? From the back camera it shows the water bottle moving - not sure if that happens if it just hits the bar? Did the ref not call it no goal first so when looking at their replay camera it would have to show it clearly crossing for it to be given? Not sure

I think the reaction of our lot would suggest it was definitely a goal. Nice finish in fairness.
Pity they didn't put the overhead shot out on the highlights though, accompanied by the Benny Hill music or not.

Definitely looks a goal to me....Hits the back bar and out.
I’ve never understood why they don’t put really good padding on the back bars so if the puck hits it then it doesn’t bounce off. Then again, half the EIHL rinks can’t even be bothered to wash their nets, some of them are just filthy.

One last point on this game, having "done" the stats on it.
It's OT. 3 on 3, vs Cardiff, in Cardiff, potentially the most offensively gifted team in the league. It's a defensive zone face off. A face off you could do with winning. Who do Panthers send out? Farmer and Kovacs, excellent players the both, but neither of whom have taken a single face off in a competitive game this season (according to the games I have stats for anyway).
What happens? The face off is lost, Martin virtually immediately scores.
I'm no hockey genius, but you should surely send a specialist centre out to win defensive zone face offs in OT?

Who is our best face off man? Pither seemed to be getting an inordinate amount of first warnings, or whatever we call them, on Sunday.

Pither, 209 for 353, 59.2% (in the games that the league has stats for which is, annoyingly, not all games... ). Hurtubise and Bolduc are over 50%, the rest (notably Lacho, Perlini and Biggs) aren't. Panthers have 7 players who've taken 50+ face offs (and Henderson on 46). I think that may be the most of any team in the league? (It is, two other teams have 6)

There doesn't appear to be a proper page for it on the EIHL website, but it's easy enough to have a look. Cardiff have a couple of guys over 60. Dixon 61.0%, Ulmer 60.6% (he was 10 for 11 vs Panthers last weekend) Ben Lake at the Blaze is 41 for 62, 66.1%(!).
As said above, sadly, it seems not all games have face off stats.
For comparison, there's only one NHL player currently over 60% this season so far.
