I still think we are probably the stronger side but one club is working towards improving whilst one seems perfectly happy with what it has. Don't think we'll be the stronger side by the end of the season. Prove me wrong Panthers. Steelers will need to replace another 4/5 then mate . Let's face it . Spending all this cash to finish 2nd at best lmao With regards us changing players. I wouldn't. I get them to work harder!!

Are they not just reallocating money Homer had already spent, but on something they hope is better?

He’s actually a few months younger than Garnett Pidge. The other two goalies at Innsbruck aren’t pulling any trees up either mate so this years stats could be a bit skewed if he’s got a poor D in front of him. Apart from the age he looks decent to me. But don't you always look at stats to judge a player iginla? When Panthers have signed goalie in the past you be never thought for a moment they couldn't be played behind a bad defence ? Works both ways I do look at stats Pidge yes,but you can’t judge a goalie on stats from only 4 games. The rest of his stats are very good in quality leagues too. Panthers should be making a statement of intent and shipping one out and one in. You can’t lose 7 in 10 games or whatever it is now and just sit back and do nowt ! 🙄

But if they finish 2nd that means they are winning games, and if you are winning games the crowds return, hence paying your outlay back. They obviously couldn’t stay as they were, and their coach seems to be slowly turning this around. If he is at the club next season I think Steelers will be a force to be reckoned with, he also comes across as someone you would listen to, and follow out his instructions.

One brick at a time.
For the record Kowalski's save % in Italy was 0.897....
It's a great signing by Steelers imo & will definitely improve them.
Kwall was at a totally different stage of his career .. Not comparable Ah, of course he was... An answer for everything today haven't we.
Your increasing desperation to write this signing off as dissapointing/trivial is proving rather amusing.

Oh dear, just seen a pic of this new Steelers goalie and if you put a scruffy homeless persons beard on him he’s a dead ringer for a young Thommo. 😂😂

It appears they’re already knackered by the end of the 2nd in most games. We’re like a rugby team being asked to play football.

Every team, Panthers included, mentions a player's prior teams/stats when announcing a signing. The NHL is the pinnacle and always gets mentioned, generally along with when a player was drafted and by whom. Embarrassing? Not really. Just a normal signing PR piece. P.R Piece? I guess it's aimed at the people who don't really understand how the NHL and their affiliate league work then eh. Back to This guy. Got brutal stats last 2 years . Definitely on the decline . Brutal stats in the 3 games he's played this season, including coming off the bench at 3-0 to concede 5 in an 8-2 defeat to Vienna. Innsbruck are conceding an average of 4 goals a game, none of their 3 goalies has anything like "good" stats just now. He hasn't played a game since 22 September, for some reason. I wouldn't call a 90.9% SP and 2.59 GAA last season in Slovakia "brutal", would you? Let's revisit his "decline" at Christmas, eh? Players Steelers sign have a habit of being better than "we" think.

Spending all this cash to finish 2nd at best lmao With regards us changing players. I wouldn't. I get them to work harder!! Their total outlay won't be much higher as they are just replacing players rather than just adding to the bill. If they make the 4/5 signings to make them better then fair play to them. If they spend more on those replacements then that extra money will quickly return as the gates rise on the back of better results. I don't think we need to ship many players out but we do need additions. Van Kleef was good to have a body for a handful of games in an emergency but he isn't the kind of quality import fit for a team with our kind of budget in the long term. We should have plenty of depth and players fighting for a place in the team but we just don't. Iginla can be a real bore on here(no offence) and the club can't do a lot right in his eyes so you have to take things with a pinch of salt but he does make some very good points when it comes to our reaction(or lack of) to injuries/poor form. Signing new players won't solve all our problems, I'm not naive enough to think that but it will go a long way towards it. Another major problem for me is our misfiring Brits, there's not much you can do in respect of replacing them mid-season so this is where Chernomaz has to earn his wages and squeeze as much out of them as he can. Perlini and Farmer I have been very dissapointed with so far this season. At present I think we are on track for a finish between 3rd and 5th. I've said it since we won the league but I don't expect to win the league each season but I do expect us to be challenging and yet again we are on track to fall short of that. I don't think it's impossible to turn the season around even now, it'd take some doing but we can do it. Experience tells me though that we will just plod along until January/February, make a couple of changes and finish the season stronger giving us all that feel good factor going into the summer and sell record season tickets once more. Repeat again in 2019/2020.

Considering the lines they tend to play on, Farmer is doing OK, and Perlini is getting there more since he's switched back to playing with Pither. The 4th line of Lacho, Betteridge and VanKleef isn't going to get you much offence at all though, is it? 4 points between them this year is pretty average, and a big step down from last year's production for the 2 Brits.

Unlike Garnett, they don't need him to play every game. Looking at those last 2 years it's probably for the best! Lol Tbh they 're more in need of a power forward than a new goalie. If it wasn't for whistle Panthers wouldn't have gone to the extra period on Saturday! You keep pointing out the last 2 years Pidge but he has had 3 very bad games this year. Didn't play too many games last year in Slovakia due to injury but posted .903 and .923. Year before he posted .908 in the DEL. Hardly the stats of a netminder at the end of the road. If there is one coach in this league that should be trusted to sign a netminder it's Barrasso. I guess we'll see.

While you would expect TB to know a decent nettie when he sees one there's also a reason why he's been let go mid season. Goalies are the hardest postion to fill once the season has commenced, Kowalski being a rare exception

Oh dear, just seen a pic of this new Steelers goalie and if you put a scruffy homeless persons beard on him he’s a dead ringer for a young Thommo. 😂😂 This is the sort of comment that just banishes any sense of interest (from me at least) from what you write on here. It's petulant and unnecessary. Insulting the homeless? Nice. With regards to the signing, I think, like with all netminders, it's a wait and see. Steelers fans will have their fingers crossed he makes a save, the opposition wqill be doing the same hoping he doesn't. We'll wait and see. The bonus for them is that if he is a flop, they still have Whistle who has been one of their (few) decent players this season.

This post is spot on, That 4th line is not good enough with the budget you have. Rutkis for the devils has the same/more points than these 3 in less games. It’s definately a place you can upgrade your team. Imo.
