It's not as egregious as I was expecting, I don't think the reported kneeing call really helped though. Won't get any extras for it. That's an utter embarrassment of a call. Not even mildly egregious. Dow is it? He's already going down & the left knee injury incurred appears to be his own impact in to the boards. Looked in agony the poor fella... Let's hope he's up & skating again for the New Year.... Here's a thought... Why do we have the created term in this league of 'The Scottish refs'? Any decent structure would move its refs around, regardless of cost, to allow them to develop their skills. It's pure Mickey Mouse.

That call was ridiculous, the crowd shouting “Off, Off, Off “ probably swayed the refs decisions which is worse. No wonder Cherno was smashing sticks with these awful refs.
On the other hand our discipline has been just as awful all season so not surprised we spent mos too the weekend in the box, regardless of the refs.

Me too re DOPS, but you never know. I, however, can see why it was called a major. There's absolutely an injury caused, and it was 100% avoidable by Olsen. So, back to my question, if that happened to a Panther, you'd be saying "Well, I can't see much wrong with that, just a bit unlucky, no real contact, he was going down anyway..."? Maybe it's just me and a sub-standard ref, eh? If this was Dow on Olsen I'd think he would be hard done to. It looks incredibly soft and look a worse as he's on the way down.. I've watched it in slow mo on their highlights and I see nothing malicious The absolute most you could say about that incident is that Olsen gently shepherds Dow towards the boards. But that’s something you see probably 30 or 40 times a game most weeks and there is no trip,no cross check,no check from behind,no excessive force used by Olsen. The injury looks to be caused by Dow’s knee hitting the boards but for me either Dow slipped or he embellished any gentle nudge by Olsen and fell forwards. A pro hockey player shouldn’t be falling over from anything Olsen did there. Olsen lands on Dow yes,but who’s fault was that, certainly not Olsen’s for me and where was Olsen supposed to go once they both went down. If Dow got injured it was his own fault,no ban should be coming Olsen’s way for that.

The Guptill mystery is solved by the Fife highlights, it's him getting turned over for the 7th.

Was expecting to see some daft flashy move attempted by Guptill that didn’t come off but there wasn’t. Seems like he’s been a bit hard done by for me to get singled out for that.

You don't think trying to spin back down the boards, ignoring an easy out to his teammate, is a bit flashy?

You don't think trying to spin back down the boards, ignoring an easy out to his teammate, is a bit flashy? Then missing your man to leave him with an open net?

You don't think trying to spin back down the boards, ignoring an easy out to his teammate, is a bit flashy? It wasn’t perhaps the wisest move but it was a great play from the Fife guy to steal the puck. The way Cherno slated him I was expecting a 360deg spinarama attempt inside his own blue line.
