What’s happening with Jon Rheault.....he’s missed 20 games now ? 18 league and 3 cup, according to my stats. Happy to be corrected. Last game he played was 16 September. 2 months and counting...

Did anybody go to the Signing session tonight? I wonder if anyone asked Rheault how he’s progressing.

On 30th October, Cherno said Rheault was still 3-4 weeks away from returning.
Putting 2+2 together here, I’d assume that he can’t be far off now, bearing in mind Doty has now gone?
I’d say weekend after next.

That’s why I asked the question. 😉

Most hockey clubs aren’t so much apathetic when it comes to injury, but paranoid. It’s ok in football, but in hockey a niggling injury can be legally targeted. The Flyers for example tend to refer to it simply as upper or lower body. It’s part and parcel of the modern game I guess.

Why do Panthers always seem to get so many bloody injuries ? Cardiff players hardly ever seem to miss a game (apart from Faryna),don’t think I can ever remember the likes of Joey Martin ever missing a game in about five years and the rest of them only ever seem to miss the odd one.

Why do Panthers always seem to get so many bloody injuries? Possibly because Panthers seem to sign players with histories of injuries? I wonder how much cheaper such players are than non-crocked ones? That said, buy cheap buy twice... (Jon Rheault had a C-spine injury in 2017 that put him out for the rest of the season.)

I remember we signed Billy Ryan off the back of a bad injury the previous year.. he didn't miss a game in the 2010/11 season!

I think that’s a generic thing with most NHL teams; when James Reimer had a concussion a few seasons ago, the Leafs referred to it as UBI when everyone knew it was a concussion.

Rheault and Henderson now may only be back in training before the new year, Hughes is out of Saturday and Perlini + Van Kleef requiring late fitness tests ahead of the game......

Least they're keeping us informed, that's all we ask.
We've got 17 imports at the moment (when goalie gets here) so can't really bemoan playing short too much. Just unfortunate to get a glut of injuries at once.

Hughes is a strange one because he went off injured against Cardiff in the second, came back out for the third, but missed the game the following day. We’re lucky that we’ve got Tetlow, he’s been doing a great job and long may it continue.

Agreed, looks like he's been playing at this level for years and will surely only get better with more time and experience. +3 for the season so far is a fine effort when you consider we've conceded more than we've scored.

Just unfortunate to get a glut of injuries at once. A few weeks ago when I queried Panthers medical staff people jumped up and down. But how do they keep getting it so wrong. Look at Rheault, they said 12-14 weeks, then he was back in training on video moving very heavy looking weights, then he was skating again.....and now he “potentially might” only be back in training before the new year. This is maybe half the problem why Panthers don’t react quickly to injuries, because what they got told in the first place about a players injury doesn’t turn out to be true.

Though not particularly great for Hughes or you, great for GB’s future Wouldn’t it be great to be a fly on the wall when injuries occur? Faryna I think has already had three different injuries this season and out for long spells; hoping for him he’s now fully healed and won’t get another this season.
