Even the estate agent has probably given up entertaining thoughts of league titles this year. Whatsisname said he'd wait til he had the full roster before deciding what needed changing, after we beat them the other day. It was definitely a fair thing to do, giving every player a chance to prove themselves but perhaps a bit too naïve? Steelers were bottom or close to bottom when Barrasso took over for a reason, a simple search on EP or HockeyDB will show that Steelers didn't have their full quota of imports too. If Barrasso has genuinely arrived in Sheffield and hadn't even started speaking to potential new guys when he did, that's a very poor show and a move I think he'd regret. I'm confident Simms, Smith and other club officials will have spoke to Barrasso before he arrived and told him about a few injury worries they have and that they need a couple of top players to shake things up. Since Barrasso arrived, both Panthers and Giants have strengthened their roster, Devils are still on a roll whilst looking for their Parisi and possibly Faryna replacements. Steelers have 6 games to play before the end of the month and another very early in November. They may have Dowd and Owens back tonight and more than likely have McGrath and Lawrence back soon but I don't see any of those guys being the difference maker which they need to dig themselves out of the hole they're in. I'm delighted to see Steelers playing so awfully but I somewhat sympathise with their fans because that roster is a trainwreck and nothing is being done to solve it. Their only signings since the season began are Brooks and Westerling, both have been trash and neither are contributing. Long may their demise continue but I think if I was a Steelers fan I'd be absolutely furious.

The Steelers really need to win tonight, because they go to Cardiff on Saturday then host Manchester on Sunday so that’s not an easy couple of games. Hope they get beat by Fife tonight then Steeltalk will be great fun. 😆

Until mathematically impossible (mid December?) he’ll probably still say they can win it 😳

Haha Steelers lose again 3-1 to Fife. And despite £5.00 a ticket they only got 4300 there.

Flyers within a point of us now with 4 games in hand, as for the Steelers, they really are hamstrung until they remove these wasters from the lineup....so they basically need 14 new players 😂

Fife are real good it seems. The only thing beating us shows is that you won't finish last, think of it as beating the Capitals, just more embarrasing as our budget is competetive ish.

They seem to be getting the job done regular.

Doesn't look offside to me. Very close, but the puck is over with Owens's skates on the line. Fife's form is ominous. I very much doubt Panthers will get 4 points from this weekend's adventures in Scotland. I'd bet on 2. But then I'm a realist.

Yup, you’ll beat Fife and lose to Dundee 🙄 What about The Clan first though ? What do you guys think about the triple header now? We haven’t even got a double header in Scotland this season Are teams so deep and stacked even in Scotland that a triple header is just one game too far now? Especially for a netminder?

We haven’t even got a double header in Scotland this season Are teams so deep and stacked even in Scotland that a triple header is just one game too far now? Especially for a netminder? They’re not a good idea because they just make it unnecessarily tough on the team, not least the goalie. Especially so with an ageing goalie like Garnett,he can’t play 3 in 3 so you end up playing the back up in one game. Cardiff don’t even have a double header in Scotland yet Panthers have TWO triple headers which just shows the difference in mentality between both clubs. Triple headers are all about saving money ! Using up a lot of games in two big Scottish blocks also takes the variation of different opponents away to an extent and gives you other blocks of consecutive tough games to fit in at other times where you play the big boys too close together. Seems a far better idea to me to forget triple headers and get a more even spread of fixtures over a season.
