Steelers and devils have been full price. I'd imagine Glasgow was last night However poor the decision by the Panthers on price for these challenge games may have been (a bit dumb IMO), at least we're not in the position of Steelers fans having to settle for Ice Sheffield. Do they pay the same for a ticket there as they do in the Sheffield Arena? If ever there was something deserving of a major discount, that's it. Ice Sheffield is a terrible rink. Glad it's all arena games this season.

If Nottingham had a smaller and cheaper arena virtually next door though capable of housing sufficient fans for our pre season crowd,I’d put a lot of money on that Panthers would be playing these warm up games there.

Ice Sheffield is a terrible rink. Completely disagree. The C-Value (and therefore rake of the seating) at Ice Sheffield is far better than that at the Sheffield Arena, leading to a far better view and experience (as spectators are closer to the ice) at the former. The ice quality at Ice Sheffield is also far better than that at the Sheffield Arena, despite the former taking an absolute hammering by all manner of ice sports and user groups.

It might be an entertaining style but we seem to be taking one heck of a lot of penalties in these warm up games. Surely they need to tone this down or it’s going to be asking for trouble ?

Some very soft calls though, I actually think we aren’t being all that physical today, seems completely different to yesterday, they look very tired.

In my 12 Seasons, I've never seen a Penalty called for a late hit

In my 12 Seasons, I've never seen a Penalty called for a late hit That's because it's a new rule only introduced this year.

You used to have maybe a couple of seconds after he released the puck, but now the guy has to still have the puck in his possession or you can’t hit him.

Think the rule allows a one second window after they've played the puck (e.g. if you've already initiated).
Noticed lost of soft calls already, usually in the EIHL you can get away with murder!
Unfortunately I think we'll see more penalties for petty stuff this season.

Don't like the idea of this one.I always thought (even if a player released the puck)that the player was game for a hit. there will be far too many hits after the puck has gone. Can see loads of these going out this season.

Congratulations on the teams win today. 2-1 v Fischtown. Keeping the 'never lost' tag thus far. Edited as Picko says below...2-1 win

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Completely different game to the others we’ve played so far. Felt like a CHL game. Great performance, backs to the wall and some huge blocks by our players. Garnett was superb and our special teams were a stark contrast to the ones we saw last night.
More of the same please Rich.

Rode our luck and the back of Garnett but a terrific win. Much more solid defensively, special teams were much improved on yesterday, great signs so far!

Who’s reffing these games ? It was Liam Sewell and Stefan Hogarth tonight. Pering and someone else yesterday. Sewell is only with the EIHL until September and then heads back to the ECHL. He doesn't even like the EIHL, only officiating for the money and fitness.

Worth pointing out you can still hit someone after they've released the puck. However you have to be in the "vicinity" of the player when they are releasing it.
TBH late hits were already covered by interference (could be argued it's slightly stricter timing wise), but the biggest thing in my eyes is that the new penalty comes with more severe penalties for hitting vulnerable players that are unaware of the impending hit (game-penalty) or "reckless endangering" of that opponent (Match-penalty).

First time I’ve seen this seasons team and I was suitably impressed. The passing in particular was fantastic and we looked solid at the back. Fischtown were clearly a very good team but we rode our luck and took our 2 power player chances. Perfect hockey.
Time out was called at the right time and it was great to get another win.
That’ll be the toughest test of pre season and we’ve passed with flying colours.

Totally agree with this, it did have the feel of a CHL game, and although the crowd was smaller than yesterday the atmosphere was also great. Really enjoyed the game and looking forward to the league campaign now!
