Great result tonight, the lads dug in deep and let Cardiff know that were weren't going to be pushed around tonight in lieu of Shmyr not being around.
Voth looked silly at times. I agree with Higgy, that Smith is one hell of a player and has looked good everytime I have seen him this season, despite always being on the losing team.
Pope made me laugh, calling everything he saw a Panthers player do to a Devils one. When blatently saw the odd trip, slash or hook back, he didn't make a peep. Never has it been truer we all see if differently. Dion wasn't a happy bunny, shoulda stuck around this year mate to see a winning side in this fixture. Saying that, I much prefer Neilson, Jimmy and Rees over 'The Grand-daddy'.
A lot of good goals tonight, especially, Neilson's stick handling for his goal.
Well done lads.

Thought it was the most up tempo game we have seen in along time with both teams playing, very fast hard hitting hockey.
cardif IMO didn't play amazingly bad we just played really well and took our chances with.
McAslan was awesome imo, rasto was also very good, apart from the goal where it kinda went through him.
overall all the players played very good games.

Enjoyable game.I thought we made them look really bad and at times it was like we were on the PP(when we weren`t) we had so much possession! The atmosphere was very quiet to say we were pounding them, but it didn`t stop me enjoying the game! I loved the fun and games at the end, this team seem to really gel together and its great to see!!! Keep it up lads, more of the same against Blaze please!!!

OK - that's me one VERY happy Panthers fan. That wasn't a battering of a team that hadn't bothered to turn up (*cough* Coventry/Belfast *cough*)... Cardiff gave us a decent game tonight - it's just the Panthers came out with a much better one.
Sean McAslan - classy scoring and very hard work... Corey Neilson with a very well-taken goal, hanging onto it long enough to cleanly beat Osaer.... Jan Krajicek with some classy smooth defensive moves.... Rasto with some brilliant saves, and Mike Ellis pulling his nuts out of the fire when he wandered too far....
Great work by the whole team.
Cardiff MoM for me was D-man #87 (Komarek? something like that...) - some huge legal hits on our players (seemed to have a thing for Ellis to start with) and lots of harassing play. Voth was just a moron... skating around like he owned the place, hacking and slashing and running Rasto as he pleased. Probably because Ryan wasn't around to keep him honest. Shouldn't be a 'C' on his jersey, but an 'L' (for 'Loser').
Apart from that plonker, a very enjoyable game. Loved the team celebration at the end....

Your right about his hits to if he plants one right they can be explosive he got a hell of a shot on him to when he ventures that far forward. His english is improving loads as well and hopefully he will stick around next season

I think we played a very smart game also in different ways at different times.
early in the 1st we were penned back by a fierce frechecking game by the Devils but we didnt panic and passed our way out of trouble.
2nd period Devils were all at sea and we caitalised and scored while they were alll over the place Petricos goal was class passing and finnishing
3rd after 6th went in we killed the game and clock very proffesionally (Adey and Blaisdell note)
Loved the end of game show, and thats all it is but if it brings 10 new fans back its worth it.

Panthers played well tonight, made Devils look ordinary, Smith 91 will sure to be head hunted in the summer, maybe though on another night Devils would have got the bounce, but we picked up all the scraps and seconds and took our chances well.
Well done Panthers, nice dive at the end, save it for the PLAY-OFFS.

87 is indeed Komarek, - hopefully he will stick around next season You'll be lucky If he's any good he'll be in Sheffield or Belfast. The one thing you can say about Panthers is that they are consistently inconsistent. There appears to be a pattern. On the face of it teams that set out to attack are in for a game, but those that set out to stop the Panthers and wait for the odd chances that come there way are likely to be successful.

Thought we were Ok last night. Nice touches, good passing and movement, and clever touches. 6-1 flattered us a bit, Devils weren't that bad, but never really looked like troubling us much. Ladies and Gents, all hail for Corey Neilson's first even strength goal of the season! And a beaut it was too. He's been excellent lately. And Meyers just gets better too. Our D looks tremendous at the moment I think, 3 lines rolling up front, with a DEL centre to come in. Could be promising.

Good game, even better team performance. Cardiff weren't as poor as the scoreline suggests, but their defence left a lot to be desired at times, especially for Petricko's goal. The defence is really impressing me at the moment. 5 goals conceeded in 4 games it great form, let's hope than can keep it up for the play-offs.

I would LOVE us to sign Smith and Komarek for next season. They are GREAT players.
Yeah Voth, as predicted, was an idiot due to Ryan not playing. Remember the beginning of the season when he couldnt have been quieter and avoided Shmyr more if he'd have stayed on the team coach? All of a sudden, no Ryan and he's skating around like the big boss.
Cant belive Darnell missed Voth coming back off the bench to join in that scuffle. Not like you can miss him.

Good job Hanson wasn`t there,he`d have given them 2 minute penalty each. I hear Dave Simms is asking the league to review the video for supplementary discipline. Unsportsmanlike conduct (Diving) and Too Many Men on the ice. ;D

ill echo that the scoreline flattered us. not to say we didnt deserve the win but by that many?
I think tim said to me its one of the bettermatches he has seen in ages. 2 fast, physical teams going hell for leather? thats he sort of hockey I want to see week in week out.
Perfect balance of physical play and skill.

I'm surprised everyone is saying the Devils played well. On many. many occasions they just seemed to give up in our end when they lost the puck. There didn't seem to be any fight or passion from them, and almost a resignation that the game was over from the 10th minute when we stuck two in. They reminded me of a lacklustre, gutless Panthers performance we've seen several times in the last few seasons. I'd have been well annoyed if I'd driven up from Cardiff to watch my team perform like that.
Conversely, I thought Panthers played really well, and therefore the scoreline of 6-1 was not flattering to us at all.

Most enjoyable game last night. It seemed to take us quite a while to settle with the Devils being first to the puck and pressing. However once Clarkie scored the first there appeared only one winner. Defensively we appear far more solid with Meyers and Rees again outstanding. Corey seems a different player (has he a twin brother) and is really looking the part. McAslan was up for it and scored a great solo goal. Rasto was rasto making great saves and foxing the opposition with his cool stickwork. Had to laugh in third when the Panthers were put under pressure after the Devils goal. Rasto trying to unhinge the net and shouting at the ref only to find that the net had dropped back into position again. Good entertainment culminating in the team 'dive'. More of the same guys. The Devils started brightly and Smith looks a class apart. His speed of thought and movement together with his stick work must make him a target for other clubs next year. On a sad note I think old father time has caught up with Dion Darling. He appeared but a pale shadow of the guy who drove the Steelers (to our cost) to many of their victorys. Thanks for memories Dion.
