Now compare that to the mid ice head hit Fitzgerald got away with in Coventry about a month ago ! Compare it to the elbow that Nelson nails Lacho with before water-gate. It's a bloody farce that one gets a ban yet the other doesn't.

Probably too worried about potentially losing their £250 though ! 🙄

I have a spare ticket for tonight’s game, block 9. It cost me £17, but if you can use it, it’s yours for £10. First come, first served. Can meet up outside just before the game... Thanks

Our power play is poor. 0-2 so far against a good team.

14 shots so far, that’s not good enough, a very flat performance, our fans are abysmal. It’s going to take something special in this 3rd...

Comprehensively outplayed so far. Devils making us look very poor and lots of poor positioning all over the ice giving Devils chance after chance. Galbraith is absolutely amazing again though!

You can't really call our fans abysmal with what we have witnessed for the last 40 minutes. The fact we are even still in the building after the crap that has turned up tonight shows something. Can't even see us scoring in this game.

So, this season we have had an incredible european ride & a very good start to our league campaign. A few worrying performances along the way, but still a very good start.
A key part of our success has been somewhat settled lines. Certainly to the point most coaches do. Tweaks along the way, but you know who is playing with who. Tonight we were a few forwards down and we went to pure, 100% pick n mix lines for the first time this season. No suprise to me that the first 2 periods were probably the worst 2 i've seen all season. A lack of cohesion. The plays were breaking down time and time again as the players looked like they were unsure of where they should be. Still it's one game. Hopefully this is the final nail in the pick n mix coffin.
On to the 3rd period. Darnell was poor, Some of those calls were abysmal. Some were fair enough, but some were just bad.
Genuine question. When did player miscinducts become 2mins instead of a 10 not on the clock? I'm asuming it has changed(Relating to Derlaego). I genuinely am unsure on how this pen was called. On Brisbois he called him. Brisbois gave him a gob full. Darnell never took his eyes off him but then called a bench 2min misconduct. Again i'm confused.
The last 10 mins we had a good go. I thought we might pull it back but it wasnt to be. Good effort mind.
Quite simple though. Regardless of Darnell or the last 10 mins the first 40 were aweful a d overall we got what we deserved.
Galbraith was outstanding and kept us in it. Gagnon tried to light the fire but Stachen said no. Philips tried to pull it back. Other than that some very poor performances.

That's despite the appalling on-ice performance. Picked up in the third but it was too little too late. Our PP was just dreadful as is to now be expected. We had 4 minutes of powerplay (in the second period I think) and I counted just 3 shots on goal. Unbelievable. I was pretty impressed with our PK tonight but it just was not enough. The officiating was just woeful also tonight.

We lost to the reigning champions despite playing poor for two periods. Despite Darnell calling as if he were Max Boyce in the third. Despite missing Mosey and Bussieres.
Disappointed of course but this team will bounce back.
Powerplay still needs work but PK was immense tonight (had plenty of practice) as was Galbraith (again).

I'm sure Darnell will take some tap, but the better team won. Galbraith kept it close.
Some seriously dumb plays from ours too it has to be said, Sauve had a couple of moments as he often does. Gagnon's attempts to start a fight might've been a good idea to spark us, but being at the blue line trying to start something while they have the puck deep in our zone isn't the brightest move ever seen.

Saw that loss coming and tomorrow is a banana skin too.
Great goaltending Awesome penalty kill Shocking powerplay Abject refereeing Poor discipline Dumb penalties Dull crowd
But do the same thing over and over again, create next to nothing and have only 21 shots in a home game and you get what we got tonight...Nowt ! 🙄

I didn’t see the game but as a devils fan was at the game last night and Darnell was the same yesterday. Some calls fans were shouting about but were fair and others you just couldn’t understand. He was the same for both sides last night though so not sure if that was the same tonight. He did the very same thing you said about the misconduct though-was facing away from the bench and called a bench misconduct when it was the player he was looking at giving him a mouthful-I’ve only ever seen these as 10min misconducts in these instances.

Can’t play for ten minutes against a team like Cardiff and expect anything from the game. Total lack of intensity for fifty minutes and some very dumb penalties. Don’t know what Neilson said to them during the breaks but it ilicited absolutely no response from the players. They finally turned up because they thought Darnell was treating them unfairly. Despite our lofty position and games in hand we lack a genuine sniper. It showed tonight. We also struggled to break down a Cardiff team who constantly stacked the blue line. Bowns had an easy match, we didn’t have the craft or guile to break into their zone with room to manoeuvre, again, a worrying lack of a plan B. It is however only one game. Hopefully they can get back to winning ways tomorrow.

The players haven’t exactly done anything for the fans to offer anything vocal. I agree we were poor BUT why isn’t that fans can’t get behind the team and spur them on? The block four lads start chants and nobody joins in, maybe if everyone had got behind them at 2-0 when they were flat it could have motivated them and potentially have changed the score line?
