Bit of a tentative game hence why it was do scrappy. Neither team wanted to give up much but it opened up as the game moved into the 3rd. Phillips really is a quality playmaker... wow !
2 points is all that matters at this stage

Well we certainly deserved that. I thought that I was seeing things through Panther tinted glasses as I was thinking that the calls against The Panthers were harsh but were justified but it certainly seems that the calls were dodgy (To be blunt).
Phillips for the 3rd goal was like Jordan Fox (Against Sheffield)
Credit to Corey for not going off on one regarding their goal and the delay of the returning player from The Penalty Box. Luckily it didn't affect the result. I could only imagine what Paul Thompson would of done if it was against The Steelers. Also I'm guessing that a rule change might have come into effect rather quickly after LOL.
Even though I'm nervous whenever Sheffield are close to our goal (As they always seem to find a goal) they were rather inept. I'm wondering if this will be the last Season we will see the likes of Roy, Fretter, Nelson...etc.
Speaking of Nelson, Galbraith saving his Penalty Shot was the icing on the cake.

Good result from a poor game (IMO), didn't even have the decency to be ill tempered. For the biggest rivalry in the universe, it was all a bit drab. 2 points is 2 points though. Great play from Phillips for Bussieres' first goal mind. Always find Steelers games abit drab, the build up and hype for ticket sales on the website never loves up to the game itself, Cardiff games tend to be my favourites along with Manchester and mk more recently

He's shown in overtime he's got a sweet shot too I just wish he'd use it more

When he gets p****d off, he starts really firing. Phillips was on the end of one of Hicks terrible calls (who wasn’t to be fair), and you could see the anger in Zac’s eyes. Not long later and he was dancing round the defence.

Regarding the delay in opening the door when Steelers scored.

And pleased for #91 to get two important goals. Also thought jeff Brown had his most effective game for a while

So regarding the incident with the opening of the penalty boxes, it sounds like just bad luck - unfortunate timing. The question is... is there anything in the rules that would allow Hicks to whistle down the play or wave off the goal due to that problem? (assuming Hicks even saw it, of course!).

Strange game, thought it was a bit dull for 2 periods then livened up when we started to turn the screw in the 3rd period. The penalty box incident seems to just be a serious of very unfortunate circumstances, but I do wonder if that gave an advantage to the hkme team whether or not the coach would have complained (and I don’t just mean Thompson, I mean Corey in Sheffield or anywhere).
Phillips is a beauty, Brown played excellent, Galbraith and the defence did an excellent job. Only goal they scored was the dubious goal from the penalty box.
I think Hicks was taking guesses at a lot of penalties tonight and hopefully things like that don’t happen with the 4 man system.
Another 2 points, can’t ask for anything more

I doubt it - it’s all in the course of the game I suppose and is it any different to a play happening next to the benches and delaying a line change? I think we have to suck that one up. In all the years (20 odd) I’ve not seen that happen before that I recall so how often is it an issue to then determine a ruling for it?

Good question and it doesn't look like it. All the rules seem to come from the idea that players might leave the box early, not late. Great result, BTW.

Agreed... just some bad luck, it seems. Carolle, who has worked the penalty boxes for years, doesn't make mistakes like that... it would be good if the Panthers highlights included that incident just so everybody could see that it wasn't her fault...

For me the whole penalty box argument is irrelevant. If we hadn’t have decided to go for a line change knowing full well people were due to leave the box we wouldn’t have been left as exposed on D

About time though cos he’s been poor, that was his first league goal last night 😳. Just need to get Shalla firing now, because as a supposed goal scorer he ain’t doing it !

To be fair to Shalla, he's been down on the 3rd or 4th lines recently so his scoring chances have been reduced. But I agree, we need to see more from him, and Derlago, who doesnt do much apart from chip in with the odd goal. Unlike DAB, who was also a goalpoacher, but a much more all round player. AND, the PP!! Purlease, can we have a proper pp setup.

Last night was the first ga,e he hasn’t scored in for around 5 games I believe?

Although I see why people have expectations of some of the players, we aren’t gonna see guys tear up the scoring charts. And that’s a good thing. That shows immense depth. Take last night for example, Brown got his first league goal and Bussieres (who can’t have many) got 2. We have goals from all over the ice and I’d prefer it that way

Scoring by committee not by superstar... that's what we've got this season, and it appears to be working. As long as each player is working hard - and so far they all appear to be doing so - and the team is scoring and winning - and so far that is happening - then does it really matter if this player or that player isn't up at the top of the scoring charts?
