Us v MK then Shuff v Stars Fife v Belfast Flames v Blaze I believe Flames vs Devils Looks like MK have gone for the payday, we took a lot of fans there last time, that’s the only reason I can think for them to pick us... And that’s everything that’s wrong with the stupid format ! 🙄

I'm guessing the games are going to be mid-week, which means a much smaller travelling contingent.
But looking at some of the other factors they could've chosen us:
(1) Easier travel. (2) Games between the teams this season have been close-run games. (3) Another chance for Shaun from This is England to catch up with Corey to discuss GB.
My only gripe about this format is it should've been announced at the start of the season. The actual way of doing the draw is fine by me.

MK haven't been miles off us in our recent games, maybe they feel this tie is a win on the business side, but not beyond the realms on the hockey side too? It's their choice anyway, I don't see any issue with it.
Good news for us avoiding Cardiff at this stage.
(Edit: Beat me to it BigLad.)

Doesn't leave much time for everyone to squeeze this one in if all matches have to be completed by 10th Jan. We have Belfast on the 12th and Sheffield are in the cup that weekend also.

The MK games have been the best games in the league this season imo. I'm glad we got them. It's always a little feisty, though Miika is a big game player. So gonna be tough.

Was delighted with this, the games against MK have been the bay of the season. By no means a straightforward tie and will be close! If fact three of the four ties will go to the wire! Only Sheffield have a straightforward path.

I reckon that if Sheffield didn't have a disgruntled fan base at the moment, I think they would have chosen us.
They beat us twice in the Cup already, they won't have to travel to Scotland and they will certainly have a bigger attendance than if they played The Stars (Granted I don't know know this for a fact, but would they sell out Ice Sheffield)

Interestingly seems MK have chosen to give up tbeir home advantage in 2nd leg, with 1st leg taking place in MK on Fri 22 Dec.
I'd rather have gone to the 2nd leg myself, but living about 40 mins away from MK will probly just be the 1st leg that I'll see, with the 2nd leg taking place on Wed 3rd Jan, which is my first day back in work after near 2 week Xmas break.

The away game on Fri 22nd? - that's awesome, got the day off, so can do that one! Smart move by MK... they have got much more chance of getting a load of away fans down for that one.
