Wouldn't have thought it from reading the comments above, but just got home and checked the score, and it appears that the Panthers won 7-4!

Generally looked rusty and off the pace the first two periods but Gagnon's coast to coast goal seemed to spark them into life!
Destroyed them after that,Devils don't look that bad but they definitely do not have the spark of last season.

The first two periods we were poor imo, but we turned up in the third and they couldn’t deal with us. This team just finds a way to win! Lacho is different player this season as well, he looks like a man reborn, brilliant finish for his goal! And we keep marching on!

I have to agree - for 2 periods it was frustrating to watch and we let Devils play their game far too much. Then Gagnon scores a goal that any highly skilled forward would be proud and and we just click into the next gear.
Once again scoring spread across the team, and found a way to win but crucially a regulation win.
Fantastic team spirit shown again and I think that’s a big part of our success this year so far.

Poor quality game masked by the excitement of lots of goals towards the end.
Still 2 points is 2 points. Onwards and upwards 😀

I think for atleast 45 maybe 50 minutes of the game Cardiff were the better team, galbraith will certainly want the first one back, but as others have said, this team just find a way to get the job done. Absolutely love this team, frustrating to watch at times but they never lay down. Total U turn from last season

Gagnon’s shot was a bullet. After that we woke up. First two periods Cardiff played with more skill and determination but in fairness the Panthers don’t give up and don’t let their heads drop. That’s why they got the win.

Thought we were awful for most of the game, so frustrating to watch, PP was shocking again and really needs sorting out. Thought bother keepers were poor and will want some of the goals back.
But then we turned it on and just smashed them, it’s always great to get a win just think we could be awesome if we cut out the silly mistakes and PP issues. Glad Gagnon got MOM his goal was perfect timing and the fight for sticking up for his team as he usually does.

2 points is all that matters . No one will remember the performance in 3 months time!

Beating teams when your not playing your best is the sign of championship teams, and so far this team sums that up perfectly. We just keep getting the job done.
If we ever really click we're going to blow teams out the water. So far this season ive seen nothing from other teams to suggest we cant go all the way. Plenty of time for this to all go wrong around christmas, but for now im very optomistic.

I have to disagree slightly with some of the above. I thought we limited Cardiff to very few decent chances. They scored a soft one that Galbraith will want back (the first bad goal I think I’ve seen him concede, 2 1-on-1’s which was down to line changes/bad defensive positioning and an unlucky bounce off Galbraiths pads.
Galbraith and the defence collapsing around our goal in the 2nd and keeping it out was a fantastic bit of team defence.
We didn’t score on the powerplay and yes when we are in our own zone we really do struggle on the transition but once we’re set up we do have some good chances, we hit the post on the first one.
Gagnon tonight played his role absolutely perfectly. Enforced his presence, fought for his teammate, scored a vital goal (his first for the club) and generally was solid at the back.
I really like the look of this team and all the other teams seem to be taking points off each other at the moment whilst we’re on a roll. Long may it continue.

The 'Win %' column on the league website has us down at .813 Is that freakin' fantastic or what? The PP is still troubling, the whole line changes / number of players on the ice situation is still only just to the right of farcical... but as dill1015 says - if you win when you're not playing your best... that's a good sign. And yet again - distributed scoring. 7 goals, 7 scorers... such a good situation, so much better than having just two or three top scorers who do most of the work. Cardiff are no mugs. I can't remember the last time they came up here and didn't play hard. That's 2 points hard-won and richly deserved. Be nice if we could do the same to them in 3 weeks time...

Can remember too many games versus them up the road turning us aside with goals and near the end to which we'd complain we had given up or whatever. Now it's our turn and I'm happy with that one.
