Decided to give last night a miss but made the trip today...
entertaining game, some good goals, Clarkie with a rocket slap shot and a great 'stop deke' for his shorthanded goal.
rasto had a good solid game and it was great to see the home celebration in a very very quiet Hull Arena.
Should to the Confidence a world of good
...and on Chamberlain, thought he was excellent, his D let him down big time and they have him to thank for keeping the score down. Certainly one for the future

Just got home! Was an excellent game, they played really well as a team and everyone stuck to their positions and did it all properly. Very impressed with them all!! Rees got checked, then just before the next FO the fight started, resulting in a Rees win. After Mike had him on the floor it was turned around but Mike was the stronger of the two. He did a good job. He also got checked in the 2nd period, and was down for a minute or so, then got up and continued.
All in all an excellent win and I hope they can bring this into next week.

Well I must say I actually enjoyed the game in Hull tonight from a neutral perspective. Again Tom Chamberlain was excellent for Hull, he's really stepped upto the plate since Bielik got injured last week. Ok he let 5 goals in but he faced 52 shots (90+ save %) and for all the goals he was left hung out to dry by the defence. I thought all your goals were well taken and well set up and I applauded all of them. And after last night I knew you weren't going to lose this one. All in all I had a good evening and to add to it all Steelers won too ;D

Helen - You didn't have to kick Jono's head in after Saturday then. Banishing him to our lot was enough.

Excellent performance. I agree with the comments regarding the young Brits. I thought Danny Meyers was outstanding, and Corey Neilson impressed. They won by sticking to the gameplan and worked some good goals, especially the 3rd from McAslan. Yes, it was on a 5 on 3, but how many of those have we seen wasted this season?
Hull contributed to a good game, but Stevens strike 3 seconds from the end of the 2nd seemed to knock the stuffing out of them.
Stingray's SOG was 23

Really enjoyed the evening. From previous games at Hull we had heard reports of abuse and bad language but from the car park guy through to the box office and buffet bar we were made to feel welcome. Thank You Hull. We will back for more of the same I hope

There are a few foul-mouthed numpties at Hull (hell - who doesn't have 'em?) but in general - they're a great bunch. From the staff to the fans to the owners (Mike & Sue Pack are great to chat with - if you can catch 'em!) I've found Hull to be one of the most sociable rinks around. Even more so now they've banned smoking in what has to be the absolute best ice rink bar in the whole country!

I was walking to the toilet just at the end of the 1st period and this one guy was shouting to Mike Ellis and said something along the lines of 'Aw are you still sulking after yesterday because you lost you effin dwarf!!' He said it with so much venom as well lol but Mike Ellis just laughed at him!

Best tell my mate that you enjoy his work.
I know he said to me at the weekend that he was pleased with how many hits he'd been getting, and how he thought they'd been received.

Easily the best quality video I've seen covering British hockey on the internet. Good to see the goals again, especially Clarke's first and McAslans PP goal.

Shocking effort. Some cracking goals there though, especially McAslans PP goal, perfect 5-on-3

That's funny because the reception I got as a Lions fan and Friend of the Lions at the Kingston Jets game was about as frosty as it gets. You'll remember how bad they were for us in Nottingham. I liked the bar too, but by far and away the best thing about the rink is the camp toilet sign.

the best thing about the rink is the camp toilet sign. Yes, Keefe and I saw that, fortunately on our way into the toilets. We spent the next ten minutes doing the old Morecambe and Wise dance. If anyone had inadvertently wandered in, they'd have wondered what the hell was going off.

Yeah, I remember the hostility of the Jets fans last time I was up there (our 6-0 shut-out of them)... but they're a different bunch, by and large, to the Stingrays fans. Baz said:- And this is different to anything else that you & Keefe do how exactly?
