How did Mokshantsev not get MOM? Missed the first period but ok game, PP awful as usual. The quick goals were just what we needed. A few of our previous teams would have lost that game so two points in the bag is good. On to the tough trip tomorrow. I had the exact same thought - some of the previous teams we’ve had would have lost that game. So it was nice to see a team finish the job off in the third period.

The main thing is we were relentless and kept the intensity up sense they has no answer for those 3 quick goals .
Mokka was on a different level .. and that's saying something. I'd like to see his 1st goal again .. and again.. and again

It appears evident to me that this new strategy of going for youth in the team has several advantages... and a few drawbacks.
On the plus side:-
- can't fault the intensity levels. There are no passengers on this team, and apart from when it appears that the coaching staff are telling them to sit back and just hold things (eg: 3rd period vs Belfast last weekend) they just do not stop. That's priceless.
- this is a real TEAM. It's not a bunch of individuals that just happen to be wearing the same jersey.
- loving the speed.
- although I could wish for some more (always will!) this season's roster does deliver more hits than many previous. Fights I'm not fussed about, but good solid hits - love it.
- there's some real scoring talent there. It needs work (and experience) but it's there in spades!
On the minus side:-
- the PP is abysmal. According to the EIHL website, we are 11th out of 12 with a PP% of only 13.16% (only Coventry are worse with 12.5%)... the top being They Who Squeal with 32.08%. What a difference! Is that down to the players or the coaches? I don't know... but something isn't right. Too many long-range shots, too little getting in close & picking up the rebounds, too little getting in & crowding (NOT crashing - take note, Sheffield!) the netminder... is that down more to a lack of experience or coaching instructions? Either way - it needs changing!
- ditto with the dump-and-chase (including - hell, especially! - on the PP). Yes, this team is fast enough for it to work some of the time... but it's not very useful against the stifling defensive styles that we face a lot on the EIHL.
The potential of this team is almost scary... now they just need to fully realise that potential.

Not much wrong with that Shaggy. Slightly disappointing that Panthers conceded two gals in the last minute of a period, while in the lead, both by getting caught cheating. That's a habit they can do without. Play the percentages, close the period out, go in ahead, job done. A point or two tonight would be nice...

Another good point to this team is the fact we have a range of people scoring, it's good that we aren't relying on a few players to get goals like some teams.

Sponsor of the game chooses the MoM's hence the choice of their goalie (easiest decision, though the right one) and Lachowicz (more than likely their favourite player).
I noticed when we were on the PP during the 2nd, Bussieres got closed down so decided to pass it to Sauve who was in the neutral zone, Corey elbowed the plexi behind the bench pretty hard seeing that. I was sat in 10 and heard it. I'd say it's a mixture of Corey's PP strategy and the players just not mixing well, too much panicking going on for me which forces them to turn to individual efforts more than team set ups.
