Big weekend for us and if we've come out of it with an extremely convincing win, unplayable tonight, the game was over after the first! Galbraith was excellent and made some big saves throughout, unfortunate to concede three. Derlago, Mosey and Phillips played some excellent stuff, Derlago's goal was sublime from Sauve's pinpoint pass to the bullet from Derlago. It shows if he gets the chances he will put them away, I think that's where he's been struggling to pick up the goals personally. Overall, every player was superb, terrific weekend and onto the next! That's been the odd thing with Derlago. His career record suggests he can score for fun,but he just hasn't had many chances. Is he being played in a position he isn't used to or being asked to do something he can't one has to wonder ? The biggest thing i find with him is he's spending too much time working the boards. Playing with Phillips and Mosey means he doesnt have someone who is particularly happy doing the dirty work, to allow him to place himself in the slot ready for the shot. However i do have to say, as I've said before, his board play is up there with a certain David Ling, so elusive and rarely loses the puck when in possession. Yesterday and the pen shot saturday shows how deadly he is when given a chance, its just finding someone who allows him to be in that position in the first place, not stuck on the boards

Yes, surely worth a go for a prolonged stretch? edit: either that or Drop Derlago on the line with Farmer and Perlini, as although they're doing quite well between them, Shalla is struggling for me

Bussieres would be a good player to put with him, or do you try putting him with Brown and Erik who both can do the dirty work and they can make plays. I'd personally leave Farms, Perlini, Shalla alone, they work well and I think It will come good for Shalla. We are spoilt with our forward options I must say!

The last couple of years fans have been complaining about Cory swapping lines, now they suggest he does just that. Agree we are spoilt for choice, and would be nice to have a couple of games to swap around a bit. Would be nice to click before the CHL games, and we have a couple of games that we could use as "practice"

I agree that Derlago isn’t quite having the desired effect with Mosey/Phillips in the same was Shalla isn’t finding his touch with Perlini/Farmer. A straight swap would be interesting to see. It’s also quite interesting to see the big difference in production Mokshantsev has from top line minutes in the CHL, scoring for fun, compared to 3rd/4th line in the league... I seemed to notice him with Bussieres & Lacho against Belfast. Nothing wrong with either those two players but it’s a subdued Mok. Momentum is being with wins under our belt now but perhaps not utilising everyone as best we could yet.
