Six games in eight days to finish the league campaign is a disaster waiting to happen, especially as five are away!!

Six games in eight days to finish the league campaign is a disaster waiting to happen. Hoping we pick up a couple spares before the transfer window shuts in February. Awful way to handicap ourselves.

Is my memory playing ricks on me, but do we always seem to finish we a flurry of away games? If so, is there usually something going off at the NIC that stops us getting weekend dates?

Yes guinness man there is...
Its normally panthers are well out of the hunt for the league and they dont want to take a hit on fan numbers watching so get the home games in early...

I don't know about previous seasons but this year Michael McIntyre is doing shows at the arena on 23rd and 24th march 2018. I know previous years he added extra shows. If it happened again the 25th would be the logical date to choose and maybe his booking team have an option on it. Whether we should play 3 games in 3 nights is debatable but what is not in doubt is that the arena is not available on those dates. That's why we aren't at home that weekend.

If im counting correct in our last 13 games we only have 4 at home... ouch!
I think there is an arguments that the hockey calendar ahould be streched out another month. Some teams are getting very congested with how many games they have to squeeze in.

Get those home games in early, especially at Christmas to make the most of the big holiday crowds and get the money rolling in. There's interest to be earned on that nice fat wad of £s sitting in the bank for months on end. And if you're out of the title race by January then let the away crowds and other teams suffer. # its Panthers way

You'll never please everyone with fixtures. There are so many variables. Just looks like people are trying to use it as another excuse to bash the club.

It's not a bad schedule really. The two Scottish triple headers close together at the end of the season are pretty stupid though !

In general I think it's a good schedule. Though as others have said the Scottish away weekends are a little too close together for my liking. But that's just a minor personal gripe. However if you think we have it bad I encourage you to check out Belfasts schedule. In October they have Just 2 home games & 7 away In December 2 home & 8 away games February: 8 home & 1 away game March: 6 home & 1 away game.
Can you imagine Panthers fans reaction if we had a schedule akin to that? This very forum would have self combusted long before now...... Considering we play at an arena that puts other events on, we have in general about as favourable a schedule as is possible to have.

My friends in Belfast are well disappointed with their schedule, they have no double headers at all apparently. I did ask NB at the Q&A about the possibilities of extending the league schedule due to 3 teams playing in Europe and he said this year would be extended by one week, thinking about it now it makes no difference as we have extra teams in the league and we're still cramming 5 games in 8 days at the end of the season aren't we?

Team GB threw a hissy fit so the league has remained the same length, just have to cram the extra games in somewhere. Apparently extending the season by a week would cost GB valuable training time, not like the selection changes that much each year as it stands, or the guys play in different leagues across the world.

The season should started earlier.
