That's a very good signing for Manchester. Well done Finner.

Sheffield lose Juha Koivisto and bring in an old Swede Andreas Jämtin. Typical Thommo signing, highly accomplished but past-his-prime. A world Championship, two SHL titles and a handful of Most Penalized awards to top it off, but his point production and time in the box has dropped considerably. Given this years league standard and the average age of Sheffield's squad, I'm not very impressed.

Strachan joins the Devils after spending last season with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, the top affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. The 6'3" 210 lbs defender played 186 games in the NHL for the St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres and most recently for the Iowa Wild. He also played 404 games in the AHL. Before turning pro, Strachan was a standout for 4 years at Ohio State University, winning a league title his first year with Ohio State. Prior to University, he played junior hockey in Vernon, BC with none other than current Devils' Head Coach Andrew Lord. "We are really pleased to get Tyson at this stage of the season," said Lord. "He is a solid defenceman who has played at the top level in the world and I believe he will be a huge boost for us back on the blueline." "Fans can expect a rock solid D-man in Tyson. His teammates can expect a total pro, a great guy in the locker room and a leader out on the ice."

www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11755 sheffieldsteelers.co.uk/welcome-to-sheffield-andre-deveaux/Steelers have confirmed the signing of former 2nd round NHL draft pick Andre Deveaux Deveaux will arrive in the UK on Friday with his paperwork complete making the 6’3 right winger available if selected for this weekend’s games against Cardiff Devils and Belfast Giants (both at the Fly DSA (Sheffield) Arena. Deveaux has played 31 NHL and 574 ALH games whilst also amassing 1,605 AHL Penalty minutes. Injury curtailed Deveaux in recent seasons though he returned to full health at the end of last year completing the season in Czech Elite league. Now fully recovered and fit Andre Deveaux is looking to make an impact with the Steelers for the remainder of this elite league campaign. Head coach Paul Thompson said “I’m very, very happy to sign a player of his calibre and ability, especially at this time of the year. “Andre hasn’t had a pre season so will have to assess him starting on Friday at his first training session with the team “We have signed a player who plays a tough rugged role but also has a scoring touch – he has a bite and an edge that I wanted to add to our roster “Andre brings bags of experience playing in the top leagues of worlds, the NHL, KHL and AHL “He hasn’t played a lot of hockey lately so we have to get him back in the swing of things. He will be a powerful addition to our line and someone that will help make us better”

Cardiff add toughness and experience Sheffield add toughness and idiocy Time for panthers to follow suit! I know we have Gagnon but it’s always nice to have a little bit of help. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=12128 Fight fire with fire.

I don't think we're at the point that we need a full time goon, who do you sit to allow a forward who averages a point a year to play?

Not sure we need to go there, the team is plenty tough enough. Fingers crossed he is another Cory Pecker.

A very, very poor signing. His last full season was 14/15...
Thompson must have realised that there are teams in this league which are much better than them, so he's brought someone in who is going to try and goon it up and bring our high standard of play down. They must be very desperate.

Steelers defensive woes increaseJoonas Ronnberg to leave Steelers. No doubt they'll react to this by signing a meathead forward who hasn't played much for a few seasons...

Looking at EP it would appear Edinburgh Capitals have either released 3 players or have the 3 quit?
Guildford have lost Lillieström as he’s gotten concussion which has forced him to retire from playing.
