They got called alot but I miss those days we had Rowe, Cloutman, Boniface, Carson and Hanson to name a few at least they knew the rules and has some authority not the bunch of idiots we have now!
Tomorrow is the 16th anniversary of the bench clearance could you imagine Smith, perrin or Hicks being in charge of it!!

Kelman gets on my nerves more and more each season, just suck up the punishment for a dangerous play by a notoriously dirty player. Fair call for me. Sewell should also be disciplined in some way, send him up to Dundee next time they play a Wednesday night game. For a guy who prides himself on officiating in the USHL in America, you'd expect that quality to be shown here, he showed nothing but that he wasn't fit for the job. The sooner Darnell is back from Malta the better, we might not always like him but he's 10x better than that garbage we saw on Saturday and tends to control games a bit better. Is Hicks missing from the officials line up? ?? He's 'Officiating Manager' for the Danish Metal Ligaen so officiates over there, then I'd assume when he's back in the UK to do stuff with CH/BS Sport he might officiate a couple games. Probably had enough of the abuse haha.

Yes Boniface was as arrogant as they come, for instance I spoke to him on the eve of the 2004 playoff final between us and Steelers. We were having some fan banter in the hotel bar beforehand and he insisted on the noise to be turned down due to his 'important game' the next day ! He could still be a decent ref when he wanted to be. Carson he was like Marmite

Mike Rowe was the best ref in the Uk, in his brief time as one, IMHO. As an ex-pro, he just had that feel for what was acceptable and what wasn't.

The kind of hit Janssen made all last season? At least the ref made some kind of call this time, 5 and a game it looks like.

That's a tough one to call from that view. Imagine being the ref having to call that hit in a split second, you have to have sympathy for them.
I've watched it about ten times and I can't make my mind up if it was a head hit or not by Bordeleau.

The reaction to the hit was a bit different to Saturday. Keefe did his job, our enforcer went straight for a hug. Having watched that one again, McGrattan looks like he doesn't want to fight but there again he's our top scorer (along with Farms) in recent games.

McGrattan will only go with Bordleau if he agree's too, they're good friends.
The hit against Boxill is an iffy one, he glides for a very very short time before contact which could be Charging debatably, his size compared to that of Boxill's will always result in contact being high. When Kudroc made hits, when Waugh does, we saw/see calls for elbowing quite often. If occurred early in the game and he got a 5+Game, I don't feel it warrants more than that seeing as he essentially sat for the majority of the game. If it was late in the game with 3 or 4 minutes to go then I'd probably want to see a single game ban.

If Bordeleau does the same on a Panthers Player on Sunday or Tuesday they play Devils, you'll be shouting for him to be hanged on the council steps.
Its crazy he's trying to take his head off

Its crazy he's trying to take his head off Definitely but that's what comes with not being attached to other teams. When our guys get hit and put on the floor, not in a huge hit kind of way but got shoved on the floor, people scream for a penalty which is ridiculous, if it happens in a neutral game then nobody even thinks of reacting. I didn't think the hit on Spang was that bad, just unexpected on his part and Bordeleau being 6'6" and very heavy, he will crush anyone he hits. The hit on Sertich was a bit more questionable with him being quite rocked by it and his helmet being off position so I'd assume he took a slight blow to the head. Either way, if our guys don't listen to Miika screaming to play the puck because Bordeleau is coming, it's their own fault if they get stonewalled.

Still don't think Bordeleau's is a head hit. At least Coventry will be pleased, with Cardiff missing Bordeleau and Hotham for Saturday's game !

DOPS statement worded so as to slightly chide the ref? "Using the Referees report and video footage the penalty has been amended to a match penalty, which should have been the call on the night due to the player being checked to the head being injured, which is an automatic match penalty. "
It's a massive hit, I think Boxill broke his nose?

Pretty clear Kelman is running the league. The amount of stuff Cardiff have got away with this season is crazy. Can't believe they got away with announcing the Hotham ban (and getting in a classless and childish little dig) before the official announcement. And even this one, he's been given the minimum ban possible under the rules - surprise, surprise.
The way Cardiff are run is really starting to grind with me. They have the arrogance of the Steelers in their heyday, but without the success to back it up.

A very strange review on Dops today. Dundee have requested a review....."of Fife Flyers Justin Fox".
No reason,no penalty,nothing mentioned. Seems very odd,I wonder what's that's all about ?

Noticed that the match bans, 10 min misconducts from the BEL / CAR game have all been rescinded. No bans so we face a full strength team tonight.

Not sure how they arrived at that from the video, that's far too harsh for that incident.
