Blaze were pretty rubbish, can't help being 2 import D down and your senior Brit. Cake walks don't do much for me, but you can only play the opponent in front of you.
Interesting that our weariness seems to have improved since playing another game and a long trip home...

Weary and tired last night, but somehow full of energy and played well today.....mmmm go figure. Must have been too late for the pub by the time they got back last night so they went straight home and got some sleep ! Played decent today, but to be honest,Coventry didn't bring much to the party.

I think we should give CN an extension by one year for each goal scored.

Whenever we win 8-3, I should be very happy however I still remember the recent games against Belfast, Sheffield and Cardiff therefore I can't get too excited as I'm just thinking that another bad performance may be just around the corner. Believe me, I want The Panthers to go on another long winning run.
Regarding the Play-Off Quarter Final, we are wary of playing Cardiff, Belfast or Sheffield but I'm wondering whether teams will want to play The Panthers?

Most definitely nobody will want to play Panthers in the quarter final........Because they know that in big games our lot will turn up !

I know Blaze were missing 3 key guys but Jesus. Panthers dominated for 40 minutes, it was like we had 2 periods of PP time.
Stewart (The big one) had a mare i nets, what looked like relatively simple catcher saves were missed and lit the lamp quite early on. He just didn't seem himself, it was as if he didn't care. No tantrums, not arguing with officials, nothing. That's not the Brian Stewart we have seen in the past.
I thought Lindhagen and Brown played out of their skin last night, both getting whacked and hit all the time but non making a fuss and just fighting through. Carter was another who impressed for me, though Blaze were very much demotivated, Carter put his stickhandling and puck control to work and it was a thing of beauty to see at times. McGrattan seems to have settled into his crash the net, screen the goalie position very well, swept home a couple to add to his growing score tally. Spang was quite good too, i've criticized him on here recently for diving but he took a fair few slashes and didn't even flinch, which was good to see. Perhaps seeing Corey slate Schultz for being a puff has made him want to avoid ending up on that side of coach. Moran scored a nice goal, should've been saved granted but it shows he knows how to shoot and can make goalies pay.
I was, however, really disappointed with the 3rd period. If that's our idea of seeing the game out, conserving energy and the lead then it sucks. Failed to clear the zone all too often, the reason Coventry got killed early on. Sertich and MacMillan appeared to be the key guys responsible for that. Pacl didn't do brilliantly but it wasn't a Green type performance thankfully, just needs to sort his positioning out and stop the super quick slides across the crease which draws him out of position.
Play the game with the likes of Noble and Godfrey back in the lineup and i'd expect the score to be somewhat different. Not as far as a loss for us but not an 8-3 dismantling.

It's obvious though....Coventry were blatantly "very weary and tired" from beating Edinburgh the night before !
Oh well,at least we've got a ready made captain for next year if Jeff Brown re signs. 😀
