That resume is something, 80 games 58 points in one season in the NHL, that's a good player. I can't see him replacing MacMillan though, completely different roles. If anyone Carter? But we need to balance the team out better. Get rid of one of the grinders and bring in somebody capable of some serious points output. Macmillan for Williams would achieve that. yes I see your point, this guy would be a first line player imo though, how would you set the lines up?

Probably completely different lines as the Panthers would have to let five other players go to afford him

This team needs to gas Corey first, just get rid please...
Then I'd sack about 3~4 of the team, but there won't be much available and the atrocious value of the pound is hurting clubs, Fife already admitting to be struggling, so Dundee, Edinburgh, Coventry and Manchester must be in a similar situation.

He can play RW or C so I guess it would depend where coach genius utilises him. So, expect to see him on D anytime soon. I'd like to see him paired with a physical player who can do the dirty stuff, maybe Farmer on LW. Then maybe with our best passer, problem is I'm not sure who that is?

We are missing a key game changing forward, this guy could fill that role I feel

Confirmed on EP he has left Ritten. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8713From their website: 'Jason Williams, who two weeks ago decisively contributed to the victory of the Rittner in the semi-final of the Continental Cup, does not return to the "Buam". The 36-year-old Canadian said today that President Thomas Rottensteiner will not be available for the Cup final in mid-January. "It's a pity that Jason Gomes gave a cancellation for the final of the Continental Cup, on the other hand Back, we will look for further reinforcements, "regrets Rottensteiner. Williams has completed a total of five games for Ritten. In the two championship games against Cortina and Lustenau he scored four goals (3 goals, 1 assist), in the three Continental Cup games he scored three goals and scored three goals. With six career points, the former Stanley Cup winner was even the scorer of the semi-final in Klobenstein. The Canadian striker scored 482 NHL games in his career and scored 95 goals and 135 assist. In 2003, he won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings. Last year he was under contract with the Cologne sharks.'

If the Williams move comes to fruition, I presume he will be cup-tied for the Conti Cup final?

What role does macmillan have? He Dosent do anything! There is an argument that his very presence acts as a deterrent. Personally, I don't buy it - not completely. It might be working to a small extent, but that's about it. Unfortunately thhat's about all he's offering right now. Very disappointing - there were signs that he offered more in the way of hockey skills than Cam Janssen, but apart from in the Continental Cup he just hasn't shown it. Edited to add... I misread your post, thought you were talking about McGratten!

What role does macmillan have? He Dosent do anything! he is a key player on the PK and he gets a lot of ice time on it. Realistically MacMillan is a fourth liner, he had a purple patch last season when he was scoring some goals but he was on a line with Ling in that period, if he's on the fourth line, as he should be, I don't expect him to get any goals/points. The guy who has been rumoured to be joining us I would be expecting to play on the first line. That was what I was indicating when I said completely different roles, do you agree?

I think the style that we've been playing this season hasn't helped him, the high fore-check and battling behind the net to win the puck suited him, I've seen very little of that this season

Keep some spares we have a nightmare schedule because of the conti cup. I see Sheffield have signed a spare D man. The rate we're going we won't have anyone fit for the conti cup , Be a miracle if Waugh is back before Christmas and if he is I'd seriously question if he's 100% or being rushed back.

Even using that justification you cant really defend his season. 1 points in 16 games is ridiculous and its not like hes doing anything else to make up for it. Nillison for Steelers was signed as a 4th liner and hes got 10 points in 15 games, hell luke ferra's got 3 points. You just cant carry players like that in this league anymore. We already got lacho, betteridge and Mcgratten not scoring. And brown and farmer as grinders. We have no room for MacMillan. If you want a guy to be a pk specialist give Marc Levers a call. Im sure he'd do a job. And he wouldnt take an import slot. I honestly dont know how MacMillan still has a job at this point.

The article when he signed for us: www.panthers.co.uk/content/gmb-panthers-sign-nhl-first-round-draft-pick-logan-macmillan"Added Neilson: "In our discussions it was clear he was "pigeon-holed" into the role of a shut down player for the last couple seasons where he won the VHL championship one year and lost in the finals last year. Logan wants to get back to putting up scoring numbers and I think he's capable of doing so and at the same time be one of our top penalty killers and play a great 200 foot game." 1pt in 16 games isn't keeping his part of the bargain IMHO.

Wonder if its imminent I see he played with Ling and Pitton a couple if years ago but only played 11 games according to Elite prospects in the last season and a half. Here!s what they say:
An offensively skilled right winger. Has nifty hands and excels on the powerplay point. Is a quality penalty shot/shootout option. Has lacked grit, defensive play, and skating ability to become really good.

We're well overdue a "no one's giving up on anything" story on the website. My delusion is beginning to slip, sort it out Gary.

Just to add some more information to this Williams chap he suffered a severe back injury last season, this sounds like the typical Panthers signing

It seems to me that whenever we have a target in mind, they wait for him to leave is club. The same as Madalora last season. Surely there are unattached players out there that can do a job.
Think we need more than 1 new face. What about Hendrix (Who Braehead released)
Also might be an idea to find a Saari type player, someone to fill in when required and take up some shifts without being a liability.
