Panther's, Rangers and Kings all out plus Blue or Blackhawks tonight 3 game each, St Louis have home advantage.
Can Penguins Cut Washington down to size, they did look good against Rangers

I haven't watched many games of the play offs and haven't been able to watch my team (sharks) at all. However just seeing the scores has been exciting! It's my first play offs following the NHL but its great! so exciting all the time, the Ducks Nashville series was amazing couldn't tell who would win and same goes for the Hawks Blues series WOW just wow.

Real fans support non - play off teams LOL Quite right. I don't even remember what the playoffs are... It's the true point of the post season tomorrow - Oilers win the lotto day.

Dunno what's happened here, the Oil's pick got worse? Surely that can't happen? Looks like Arizona's finest is off to Toronto.

Matthews will have that team built around him now. The Leafs will be a force in a few years time along with Mcdavid and the Oilers.

I felt confident that Totonto would get 1st; I'd be open to kicking the tires on a possible trade for that pick, dependant on what would be coming back but obviously it'd have to be earth shatteringly fantastic.
Apparently Arizona wants Matthews quite badly as he's a local boy...

Toronto have been a dumpster fire for ages and Mathews had been compared talent wise to Eichel.. do Arizona still have next years 1st round pick? If so as a leafs fan would you take that pick plus Domi and a 2nd?

Two 1sts & a 2nd for the 1st pick overall? Nope. Wouldn't even answer the phone. Toronto already has three 2nd rounders for next year's draft due to the Phaneuf & Polak trades with Ottawa & SJ respectively.
Shanahan & Co would be mad to move that pick; Matthews is the 1C the team have lacked since Sundin left in 2008, so he'd be the obvious choice to draft but then that'd negate signing Stamkos. I can't decide if signing him would be a good thing or bad thing in all honesty.

If I was a leafs fan I wouldn't be too excited about signing Stamkos.. Huge contract and pretty one dimensional game.

If any trade with Arizona started with OEL (who they wouldn't trade) then I reckon you might get the Leafs attention. As for Stamkos, I'm not sure they go after him now; maybe offer a deal but they won't go for him as much as they would have done if they didn't win the draft lottery.

Why would they, it's not as if they are in a window to compete now and need success ASAP. Mathews is the answer.

No, there isn't any rush as such but I genuinely believe the Leafs' brain trust want to be competitive as soon as practicable, the difference being I don't see them trying to rush anything. Signing Stamkos would create a log jam at C but would speed up the competitiveness quite quickly.

Will be interesting to see what happens to the #4 pick, Oilers need defense and they would be reaching at 4 to pick a defenseman! Think we might be hearing 'we have a trade to announce!'

Travis Hamonic to Edmonton as the Islanders have reached respectability. Not sure a 4th overall for Hamonic straight up though...

Whilst I have enjoyed the play off Hockey, West coast playoff hockey is much better. Though as a stars fan, last nights game was heart in mouth stuff!! Blah blah Western snobbery If you like clutch and grab hockey then feel free to dine on the West! It's been pretty good across the league this year. Wish we had more multi-OT efforts though. Looks like Arizona's finest is off to Toronto. For the first time the Draft lottery was held for the first three picks. So it was very feasible whilst unlikely that the leafs could have ended up picking fourth.[/quote] Yes, but the Oilers lost...?!?! I didn't even know that was allowed. Travis Hamonic to Edmonton as the Islanders have reached respectability. Not sure a 4th overall for Hamonic straight up though... No chance. Wonder if they'd take Amac or Steit and #18 off Philly.... Wishful thinking! We'll never move Mac but we'll definitely get a decent amount for Streit, probably a early 2nd or more at the TDL. PP QBs like him are valuable in April. Hamonic is going nowhere anyway.

With Amac you never know.. Stranger things have happened and worse trades have definitely happened! Maybe a cap floor team. Would expect Streit to be traded at the deadline, certainly if Provorov is up. And yes I agree re Hamonic.

I like that Toronto getting the first pick has annoyed, on varying levels, much of the NHL's fan bases.
They should get another high one next season too.

It would have been morally wrong if Edmonton had got the first pick overall again. If a team can't sort itself out after gaining so much talent, then they deserve to suck for eternity.
