Good reasons why it could be Myers, he is not on the 2017/17 on ice part of the website.
He lives in Cardiff and commutes to Notts, can't be fun.
Simms said it was a player going back to Cardiff, one of the previous Devils and he was surprised. This could be Myers too as I read there was bad blood between him and Kelman, but maybe Kelman has realised he is a good fit and wants him back, hence why Simms said he was surprised.

So this headline signing we could be making a guy who's played with a former panther who would be a fan favourite, just had a little look about and when Fox was player coach of the St Charles Chill he had Chad Costello on his roster, only for 6 games but if were speculating why not throw this into the hat? He'd defiantly be a big signing for the club and something to be excited about

He'd defiantly be a big signing for the club and something to be excited about I'd assume it's Jeff Brown. Costello would be far too good for us, i'm shocked he still plays in the ECHL. Brown is great friends with Lawrence and spent two years playing with Ling. I think it's a case of if one comes, they both come. Brown is a bit of a power forward but with an eye for the net, energy player and throws the body. Could be very effective, wear players out and then find a good position to light the lamp. Corey knows how much fans love physical play, hits and the odd fight.. energy plays.. That's Brown in a nutshell.

People must be seeing something in Jeff Brown that I'm not. We don't need another hitter or energy guy,we have already signed those.
There are six import slots to fill, with 2or 3 Dmen, with at least one of them a good puck mover like Quick, plus two goal scorers and a set up player. Why do we need another hitter, when we have Janssen,Macmillan,Farmer and hopefully Myers ?

Jeff Brown is not a player that i'd be happy to see. Certainly not a top end guy. Would be one of the most underwhelming import signings we've made. He would have to be a Franny/Mosey type signing. Wait and see and hope that he proves us wrong. I'd take Lawerence back any day but that would make even less room for a guy like Brown. No thanks. No way he is the top end guy Cory was talking about pulling off surely.

I think the side is looking decent so far. Long way to go . You know come September this team will be stacked with quality.
Hopefully Kolnik and Quick return. I've learnt with Mosey, don't write anyone of before you've even seen them..same with Brown he could turn out to be a Gem, if it's him we've signed

Brown is in his 1st Full Professional Season and finished as the 2nd highest goal scorer for Brampton. Brampton are garbage, fair enough but that's still some accomplishment for his first full professional season. He got the call up from Brampton last year but only after graduating University. He's an impact player and he's certainly got an eye for the net, i'd expect him to score 15-20 in the right role with us, he'd have a lot better players around us and he offers a lot more too, hits and energy plays.. I think he deserves a lot more of a chance than people are giving him, i feel he could be a very good signing for us and potentially a player who stays with us for a few years.
I don't think we'll announce his signing tomorrow as ECHL contracts don't expire until June and i can't see him cutting that short with Brampton not making playoffs. He's very good friends with Lawrence too and he's got a good eye for the net, we saw the bond of Schultz & Bohmbach, i don't see why Lawrence and Brown couldn't have some sort of similar bond playing together.

With you on this. Can't believe any Panthers fans would still be naive enough to write a player off based on hockeydb stats, especially since Mosey.

I can see both sides of this. If we do sign him its not him personally i'll have a problem with. Hes a guy that could do a job in this league. And a line with him a janssen on could be a real weapon in our arsnel.
But i would be concerned about our team balance. It would put massive preasure on the next 2 forward signing. Assume we get Kolnik back that would mean we need to sign a real play making stud to replace bohmbach and get more points out of Schultz.
50/50 on him.

There's nothing wrong with the roster so far,the nuts and bolts are in place, but the last three or four forwards have got to be the game breakers. Hope I'm wrong, but I can't see Kolnik coming back,so that would be some serious player to replace for one.
At least three of the last four forwards have got to be AHL/NHL quality or it's going to be same old same old again for Panthers !

Or writing him off. Firstly it's about if he is what we need with what we have, And secondly he doesn't have much of a CV. Which means on paper he would appear underwhelming. However he could easily be a Franny or a Mosey and take the league by storm. Thus a wait and see signing. Would I chose him based on what evidence I have? No! Would I write him off? No way. The reality is for every Mosey there have been 10 duds. Let's hope if it is him he is a Mosey. Would love him to be.

I can still see Schmidt &Lawrence back but if they are waiting overnight then it's someone either gone home or a newbie as Bryan is still here at the moment.

If/when we sign Jeff Brown hopefully he will turn out to be a a peach of a find, he's young and hopefully enthused for the game and hungry to prove himself, if along with him Lawrence comes back I hope he comes back with the same gusto he played this season just gone but put in a line where he's being given the opportunity to score goals. He had 25 goals in his first season, on a line with a real dish master he should be able to put up the 60 odd points he did in his first season, Shultz you'd expect if he comes in hot again and stays healthy to hit just over a point a game, we've got Moran who will tick along nicely and I'd like to see Mac put on a line where he can play his game but offers the opportunity for him to put up good points. I think we've got goals in us and plenty of fight and grit, have to see how the rest of the D shapes up. Hopefully a Werner type and retain Quick and a full season from Dimmen
