When do we think the messiah sorry Ling will make his debut, GM says he will be here in about 2 weeks my guess is Dundee Stars 24th Oct, I do hope is first game is at home maybe it would help to put bum on seats on a home fixture thats not get more than 5k if they are lucky.

Thats a good PR move, we haven't got an Edinburgh midweek match coming up have we.

Which forwards do we think would benefit having Ling as a line mate? he'd be a great with Shultz and Bohmbach and I think that's where he will end up, be good to see him with kolnik and Moran though and that can be the 3 wise men line

Had a look back at some of the "Daily Schedule and Scores" sheets for the 12/13 season on the Elite league website, a lot of goals and assists with Graham and Benedict and a few with Lackowicz, Clarke and Myers, did Ling do faceoffs?

Not many no but whoever he played with will get plenty of points. He laid it on a plate for guys he was that good.

Got to be with Bohmbach and Schultz.
The last two you want Ling with is Moran and Kolnik.....Jesus you would have a combined line age of well over 100 !!!!!

Detroit's 'Grind Line' had a combined age of over 100 when they helped win the Stanley Cup back in 2008 and Chris Chelios (who also featured in that team) was not far off half that on his own. Age is but a number, not the whole story.

I'd be tempted to go with:
Lacho - Moran - Kolnik Farmer - Bohmbach - Schultz Clarke - Myers - Ling Janssen - MacMillan - Betteridge
There were signs against Coventry that Farmer was getting on the same page as Shultz and Bohmbach, the assist for Bohmbachs 2nd was a thing of beauty. Lacho stays where he is because he's done OK by my book with the 2 older heads around him and he seems to be getting better.
Main reason behind putting Ling with Clarke and Myers is that they both have an incredible rapport, played together for so many years, and both of their career years points wise came when they played with Galbraith. This then gives you 3 stacked lines of offence.
4th line then becomes somewhat of a checking/shutdown line (Ollie has been throwing the body nicely all season so he'll fit in well with this), I would also have no issue if this line ended up out there against the other teams 'top line' as all the players are defensively responsible.
This is taking into account of course that all of our forwards stay fit, someone gets injured move one of Cam or Ollie up and Mosey takes up that 4th line wing spot. This of course is only possible when Waugh is back fit and raring to go!
The depth in this squad is excellent, and with how Oakford has stepped up the last few weeks since Waugh went down he's deserving of that regular 6th d man spot (he's wasted as a 7th).

Detroit may well have had a grind line Tootootrain, but I'm sure they wouldnt have been their three most cultured passers.
Why on earth would you put your three best and most skilled players together and ask them to be a "grind line ? I'm sure they would be ever so pleased if Corey suggested that to them and it would also waste your three main set up guys on one line,it doesn't make sense.

Moran & Ling together makes no sense at all. They're both playmakers, need to be on separate lines.
