...My colleagues CRB check took 1 week whilst mine took five... What has CRB (or DBS as it has been for a while) got to do with it? They're awaiting visas aren't they, not DBS clearance?

I read it as an example to remind people that official applications (DBS, passport, visa, work permit, whatever) can take vastly different lengths of time for different people. Seems fair enough to me.

some visas will take longer to process than others for various reasons, past issues, both legal as well as administrative (overstays on EU visas before etc,) whether they have been granted an EU visa before, backlog at specific embassies etc. Now, I have no idea in this case, but it may not be as black and white as some seem to be implying.

Schultz here tomorrow, Moran arrives on Thursday and then Bohmbach and Janssen could potentially arrive before the game on Saturday Potentially is a word I hate. I'm guessing the chance is slim but they don't want to skewer hopes this early in the week.

I used to countersign for DBS', like a lot of official applications, you can't even get any information regarding your application till 4 weeks have passed. It can come back in 3 days or 3 months, but they'll tell you sweet FA until the 4 week mark. Not defending Panthers organisation here, as they should have factored this in, its the industry they are in, getting people from North America, and others, over here. HOWEVER, processing times are notoriously crap.... Got to the end of this post and realized, its got nothing to do with hockey...and nobody cares. Tough I've wrote it now

Great news, thats our whole top line now playing Saturday. not expecting much to be honest as assumed they will be pretty jet lagged, but every extra body helps presume Janssen will arrive next week in time to introduce himself to Nickerson, Keefe, Lloyd next week, can't wait

Nottingham Panthers @panthersihc 38s39 seconds ago GMB Panthers' league campaign starts THIS SATURDAY as Dundee Stars come to town. Schultz, Moran & Bohmbach will debut! #PanthersNation I hope that this is correct regarding Bohmbach.

Credit where its due the players apart from a very late signing will be here for the start of the season so someone has put some overtime in to get this done..
My only concern is that it makes the"pre" season pointless...

It doesn't alter the fact though Tex,that we will still be starting the season three imports short......and three of the ones we will have on Saturday will not have a single pre season game under their belt.
It's still not great is it !

My only concern is that it makes the"pre" season pointless... The only overtime that would've made any difference is at the visa office, and they won't have done any for us. So just convenient timing. Perhaps, too convenient...

I have seen many a player step straight off the plane, jet lagged and all, and have his best game for us.

It's still not great is it ! Well if the plan is to run one short anyway we are only two short in reality. We will sometimes be two short with injuries and such so no biggy really. We have our top line and a gap on the third line. Our defensive pairings look strong even with one main guy down which is pretty impressive. Mosey allows us to plug the gap in a dynamic fashion so Neilson can choose whether to run short on offence or defence. That's a luxury in itself. Roll on tomorrow.

The plan to run one short was when Peckham was coming. Pretty sure that threw all of the plans in the air.

We won't have to wait long for things to come together I don't think.

Can't wait for Saturday night now. Now we have our top line in. Secondary scoring in Kolnik and the depth our brits give us. Bring it on.

I personally still think its a poor show to cripple ourselves with an import short as compared to our rivals and when things like Peckham not coming happens it exacerbates the issue but that's what the management are going to do and unless the wheels fall off the wagon I guess there is nothing me as a "normal" fan can do about it...

we could always swap Lee and Farmer for Hewitt and Sarich - that would have made everyone happy, and probably saved a bit of money in wages too.

Wonder if they are keeping it quiet about Cam and he might surprise us and play?
