Make sure you give attention to ALL the players and not just the main contenders. That includes those who only play a few games also.Nice to see a face to a name.

Good luck with it, hope we have a decent team for you so people will want a few mementos.
If we can ever work out how to change the links bar on the front page, we'll set the photography one to your site.

Come on Spik, let's be a bit more welcoming. Interrogation not necessary.

Welcome . I hope it all goes well . Could you tell me whether us mortals will still be prevented from taking our own snaps from the stands ?

Welcome . I hope it all goes well . Could you tell me whether us mortals will still be prevented from taking our own snaps from the stands ? I believe that is the EIHL policy or at the Very least the club's. I remember A club photographer telling me he didn't care that people took their own pictures but the club objected. I guess they make money off the photos, Gary is never one to miss out making a couple of quid out of us. When the ban first came in there was a rumour Sean Mcaslan insisted on the ban as he owned his own image rights.

Thanks folks , just seems crazy , grasping and alienating . From what i`ve seen , most of those taking snaps are "newbies" to the sport (no offence meant you are most welcome) so i just hope that they come back after being told by arena staff "YOU CANT DO THAT" ! its not very welcoming Gary ........

I suspect that the club got the idea from arena policy when bands etc visit as I believe you cant take photos then, but this seems to be a club policy rather than a league one as other clubs do allow photography as long as it isn't with a flash..

There is generally no issue with taking pics when a band is on. It is certainly not enforced if there is one.

True , at the old "barn" too you could take your snaps but as you point out without the flash because of the obvious danger of dazzling players . I cant see our snaps being a commercial loss to rink , arena , players or photographers quite honestly .

If people taking photos at Panthers games is verboten then why do they announce "no flash photography" rather than "no photography"?
I was always understood the Panthers ban related to what they would deem as 'professional' set-ups (telephoto lenses etc) because, considering nearly every mobile phone on the market has a camera, an outright ban would be (and obviously is) unenforceable.

It's on the season ticket form though, under NIC Term's, so I guess it's their call.

it's on your ticket and on signs going into the arena. It may well be but... When the highest levels of ice hockey (the NHL) don't have a ban on photography (they have a restriction on lens length) its pathetic when a club in a tin pot, backwater league tries to implement one. I say "try" because, as already alluded to, it's impossible to uphold when there are potentially 7000+ cameras in the arena. Prehaps this is why the NHL doesn't try at all...

Like Nate, I don't agree with it, but it is what it is and looks more like a rule from the arena than necessarily one from the club. Although I do like the idea of Sir Sean McAslan getting it put in to protect his image rights

Just behind us a guy proposed to his fiancée in one of the intervals through the scoreboard screen and then when one of their friends who was with them took a photo of them both a yellow shirt came up and threatened to take the camera.

Ah the yellow shirts, the Capital FM arena very own jobsworth stormtroopers!

Ah the yellow shirts, the Capital FM arena very own jobsworth stormtroopers! Thought they were wearing Green last season - if they took more time stopping people going to their seats whilst the puck is in play, and less talking to their mates and watching the game, they may get more respect when enforcing the rules

Come on Spik, let's be a bit more welcoming. Interrogation not necessary. Hay, Panthersiimages had no problem and kindly answered my querie. Chill .I collate stats and facts. Knowing John Styles myself as the away travel man for Panthers , couldn't see him as having done the photo desk last season but seems he did. Wanted to comfirm this to keep my records straight as regards who did what in my 'Officiials' records. Straight query which was answered.
