Happy for Ryan Shmyr. Bloke deserves a goal.
One of the few who has exceeded expectations in my opinion.
Mike Ellis, look at what they did right tonight and get them to do it again.

Just got back from Hull, 2 hard earned points against a dogged Stingrays side. Simoes deserved the award although RR was outstanding, especially in the 2nd period when Hull came at us and early in the 3rd when we had some serious penalty killing to do.
McAslan took his goal very well to get us the lead early, good set play off a face off. Simoes first was an opportunist strike after Meyers shot had been blocked in front of the net. His second was a great piece of skating to take the pass from Moran and then backhand it under Bielik. Shmyr took the empty netter very well from the neutral zone after gloving the puck out of the air.
Big Jan very good tonight, as was Stevens, played alot of minutes especially on the PK. Kevin Young was excellent for Hull and it was a big blow to them when he limped off with about 8 minutes left, could have been very different had he been on the ice as they pressed for an equaliser.
3 points out of 4, not a bad weekend and hopefully a big step towards securing a playoff berth.

Good game tonight, we played well again and got the result we deserved. McAslans goal was very well taken although he didn't really shine as much as I thought he might having scored!! Petricko played well again tonight closing down players and making space for others. Rees, Meyer & Neilson were all pretty solid at the back and Jan was great as ever. Mopes played very well tonight and made Simoes 2nd goal all on his own out of nothing!! Simoes was well deserving of his MOM and played an absolute blinder. Rasta was great and with help from the defence looked back to how he played in his first weeks. Ferrara & Cooke look very good playing together at the moment too!! Shymr's goal was great, one of the best empty netters I've ever seen!! They tried to clear it out of the zone over his head and he jumped up and caught it, dropped it to the ice and hit it like a half volley!!

Good to see Simoes get some goals, he works so hard. *Another short handed goal against* where is the defence, hmm?

Well I must say I did enjoy myself in Hull tonight.
There was a fairly decent game, good chips, and some fantastic banter.
I'll see you all again next Sunday vs the Caps..... which incidentally is my next game.

Panthers win, Steelers lose & spicy chips. Does life get any better I ask myself? ;D Good performance, some cracking goals and 3 stand out performances from Simoes, Rasta and the immense Krajicek (how much ice time does that guy log?) Think the defence had been given a rollocking after last night as they had tightened up considerably! So, finally I see Hull lose this season at the seventh attempt! I hope I can keep my record of seeing them not lose to the Steelers though

Agree with what's already been said. Good all round performance. Key moment was the killing of the 5 on 3 at the start of the 3rd. Staniforth looked determined to give Hull every chance; with Cardarelli and Rees in the bin he then called Neilson for absolutely nothing (I was standing at that end, and had a clear view). We defended it really well, and had as many shots with 3 skaters as Hull did with 5. Had some luck tonight, but deserved our win.
I am glad to hear some "banter" took place. Most of what I could hear was simple abuse with regular use of the "F" and "C" words. No wonder there weren't many there.

Some of the worst abuse I've witnessed was when I went to watch Leeds Rhinos play Rugby League at Hull. They were shocking during the game when they were winning. but when they were losing it was even worse.

The same happened earlier in the season in Hull. I complained to stewards about unacceptable abuse from certain Hull fans, pointed them out and saw them removed from their seats with the promise of ejection. Not ten minutes later however I saw them seated elsewhere in the arena. Perhaps Hull Arena staff need to have the courage of their convictions. Talking tough but not delivering soon has little effect.

Its worrying that theres a problem with fans behaviour at the Arena. Something possibly needs to be done although Im not sure what you can do. The security do their best IMO.
As for the game well the 3rd period was good from a Stingrays POV, we can out well in the 2nd aswell but at the end of the day your class showed. McAslan was the most impressive Panther, if he gets a chance then you really expect it to be finished. Stingrays hit the post 3 times and Glowa somehow missed a gaping open goal. Rees sucessfully injured his 2nd Stingray and were going to miss Kevin Young in the run in as we are now down to 2 import D.
Good luck for the rest of the season, Im rooting for your team to win it.

I enjoyed the game, I thought we were the better team and our fans also the noisiest. I also spoke to some Hull fans and they were very nice and wished us a safe journey home. I think the last paragraph from Hulls press report though has to have the last word.

It seems the main culprits are in the DB and D Block which are next to the away support, they have been complained about on numerous occasions, and as usual the security neer does much about them, although one did get thrown out last week against Newcastle.
Banter beteen fans and players on the ice I have no problem with, but between fans should be left to Football.
Re Hull FC ......... Oh boy have their fans got a bad rep.

Like I said, so have Hull RLFC. Thats who hes talking about. Thats what theyre known as here in Hull because theres KR and FC. I understand that whether you support FC or KR depends on which side of Hull you live in. I once heard a story that some years ago there was a big fuss because the council painted all the front doors on the council houses in the FC part of Hull red (KR colours). (or might have been the other way round). Is that true? Re. the general comments about FC fans, I have to say I watched a couple of games in the 1970s from the old Threepenny Stand when it was all still there, and it was a fantastic atmosphere.

Superleague are set to follow ice hockey and introduce franchises. 2008 or 09 I believe. Relegation will also be scrapped.
Chances are Hull FC will get the franchise and HKR will be told to either merge with HFC or go. Serious controversy ahead when you remember few sports fans are as well educated as us about the benefits of franchising and non-relegation.
