Fantastic news, as much as I love all our Brits, Lacho is definitely our top Brit player.
I'm not so sure Lee will be off. He may look, but his injury-hit season may have hindered his chances this summer.
Judging by the article though, Lacho is off next year. And who can blame him.

Relax, they're not that good. We only need them because they are Brits. I like having a local lad in the squad but with all the rumblings lately surly the best thing for gb would be for them both to play in the best league possible to gain experience?

Reckon you need to change your name to "mr controversial" Lachowicz is just as good as half the imports we've seen since he's been playing for us. Plus him and Francis work well with each other so fingers crossed he's next to re-sign

I wonder if the news of the CHL has changed Lacho's mind, its a good opportunity for our Brits to sell themselves to the European market.

I wonder if the news of the CHL has changed Lacho's mind, its a good opportunity for our Brits to sell themselves to the European market. I wonder how many decent Brits we could tempt off the back of this? Contracts in the EIHL not being worth the paper they are written on (specially pre-season) it'd be funny if Dowd, Peacock and a few others jumped ship for those classic reasons Brits walk out of pre-season contracts "for development reasons/can't pass up an opportunity to better myself/etc".

We should be hoovering up all the top Brits, but we won't.
Re lacho, don't get me wrong what he has achieved is remarkable, getting to the level with the facilities on offer in this country and it is always heartening to see a local lad out there. But if you rank all of the players from last season based purely on skill he would be around 50. Take into account the import limit and he shoots up to around 20, which makes him an excellent signing.

Take into account the import limit and he shoots up to around 20, which makes him an excellent signing. And if you rank all the players based on points then Lacho is 24th. With three players on each forward line across ten teams, that makes him top line material. And far above the level of many of the imports.

There you go I rated him 20th, his points reflect that at 24th (I didn't even look at points). Sadly due to a poor squad he was on our top line last season.

I don't think you've quite understood. Lacho is 24th on merit, not because of the import limit. If there were no imports he'd be in the top 3 or 4 and if there were an infinite number of imports he'd still be in the top positions because there isn't the funding available to sign another 100 imports of better quality than Lacho.
It's not right to suggest that based on skill he'd be 50th if his points production shows something completely different.
Finally, you say that he was on our top line because of a poor squad? 24th puts you on the top line of almost any team in the league.

Lacho was on a line that gelled superbly and there on merit. He also has regular PP time.
Its not about having the best players on your top lines, its about having the right players.

K wall got 5 points, what line would he be on?
Look how many points legue got, where's he playing next season?
Points only tell half the story tbf.
Anyway, good signing.

Lacho could be on 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th line for all I care.
The way to win is to have 3 all round quality lines.
Just like giants this season and we did before ...

Have you been watching Miracle??? It is certainly true though. Look at some of the stars in the NHL who are amazing players but bad fits. Ovechkin is a prime example. The ego has to either compliment or be managed by the coach and other players.
