Sorry to hear the numbers don't look good at the minute. I've decided to buy the weekend package and I'm coming over from Belfast. 6 games in 3 days seems like a fun hockey weekend. So if you see a lone Belfast fan, I haven't got the wrong venue, say Hi. Haven't been in Nottingham since 2006 so looking forward to a great weekend.

Nice to see others fans coming in for the weekend. Hope you enjoy it as much as the teams supporters.

It would be really great to see other supporters, I thought we would at least fill half the bowl but it looks very sparce at the moment. Let's hope we make plenty or noise.

The Asiago arena holds less than 2000, so I am pretty sure the IIHF will be pleased with the ticket sales to date.

Having experienced, and thoroughly enjoyed, the Panthers' previous expeditions in the Continental Cup in Amiens and Rouen, I can only recommend that if you haven't bought your tickets yet, you definitely should! This is a unique opportunity to experience some good quality, and different style hockey, and assess just where the Panthers sit in a much bigger European pond. The biggest culture shock for me at the previous 2 Tournaments was the very different interpretation of the rules adopted by European Refs, which usually went against the Panthers more Canadian style of checking hockey. Hopefully, this year's squad recruitment, which deliberately targeted players with extensive experience of playing in mainland Europe, will enable us to challenge for the top spot in this group. My own view is that the group will be between the Panthers and Dynamo Riga Juniors, but I may be wrong! Roll on Friday!!!!!

You'll be welcomed, so long as you don't wear a "on loan to *******" note on your shirt. ;-) I will look out for you, have a good trip.

Really looking forward to all 6 matches and the whole weekend. I'm planning on sitting a bit higher up for the non Panthers matches to have a good look at the tactics being used by the other teams.
I am hoping and thinking that there may be a bit of a late rush on tickets. The prices are very, very good and without being too dramatic this weekend could well be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some Panthers fans. Get yersels down and lets roar them on!

Does anyone who has the Panthers Parking Pass at the Metro on Huntingdon St know if it'll work for these 3 days?

Credit where it's due: they've made sure the fans are still getting their money's worth for the weekend with new opponents.

But why does the news article on the Panthers site explain that the Estonians can't make it because of visa issues, to be replaced by the Spaniards, and then, in the very same article, describe all the weekends games involving Viking Tallin? Lol, puts the normal spelling mistakes to shame!
Edit: They changed the wording about five minutes after my post!

Unlike the select few Panthers fans (such as panthersdman) who made classy statements last season such as "I hope you get injuries"...
Myself and I'm sure many Giants fans would like to wish your guys well in this competition. Having competed in it twice and knowing how fun it is to be part of both in our own arena, and last season over in Germany, You guys are in for a treat of a weekend.
I hope the Panthers do their fans, and the EIHL proud.
(boy, that was tough, I need a lie down)

Why would they have had visa issues (they managed to play in Belgrade in round 1)? And why wouldn't the Spanish have the same issues?
Vitoria-Gasteiz were at least 2nd in round 1, so it's the correct team to step up.

Many thanks, as always, to NottinghamMatt for the lightning fast turnaround on the team images for the opening post.

I was wondering this too, will be expensive if not.. I've tried the email address (bounces back) and the contact form (goes to a scripting error) on their website seemingly to no avail. If anyone knows, share the wealth

Why would the Spanish (EU country) have visa issues? As is Estonia? From the UK Border Agency Website: - you are a national of Estonia. - you are coming to UK to Work. - you are normally and legally living in Estonia. What do you need to do? Nationals of countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland have the right of free movement and residence in the UK. The European nationals section contains information about your rights in the UK. If any members of your family are not EEA or Swiss nationals, they can come with you to the UK, but they may need to obtain an EEA family permit before they travel. The European nationals section contains more information. I presume the problem is with imports they may have playing for them there?

According to Eliteprospects.com, they have 6 Russians and 4 Belarussians in their 22 man squad, so Visa problems for these players could, quite legitimately, have been the cause of their withdrawal.

Yeah that all makes more sense, I don't know what the rules are for Russians in Estonia, but given their recent past it's perhaps easier for a Russian to work there than it is for them to work in other parts of the EU.
