As someone put in GT, Sarich would be a quick replacement. Though a Euro could come in and that worked out alright with that Angel Something lol.

He is not showing as retired. Played last year and doesn't have a team so far this year...

Gui lepine for me is number 1 choice but Jason Beckett could be a good replacement also. There are always other choices also. So many to choose from it is hard to tell. Henley for me was unlucky tonight being thrown out for Roughing. the ref had a stinker of a game tonight and that Angel fellow is Nikolov.

Think Lepine has got another gig in the AHL, Beckett is doing something non playing related.
Got to be looking towards someone with decent AHL experience, with that league yet to start they ll be a few coming up in AHL camps who may miss out , but perhaps as a stop gap, it ll be a euro as no paperwork required

Thanks Yotes yh I meant Nikolov.
I think it'll be a Euro because of the paperwork.

I wouldn't be surprised if Corey dresses this afternoon.

Sooner have Neilson than Sarich.
I'd also have Levers back over Sarich. At least you would get commitment.

For tonight's game CN but after that - no thanks. that's why I said Corey whilst we assess the situation. Neilson is a damn better prospect than Sarich and we also have no idea what players are available.

Whoever we get, I hope they put up great performances such that Corey and co keep them on, and we go with 4-import D following Eric's return.
In general, and individually I think all our D personnel have looked ok with Norton doing very well also - but as a unit(s) they have a lot of work to do, especially on the PK.

Kenton would be my call for a quick solution, only on a short term contract in Braehead, he's over here, he's for paperwork in place!
If he can't play this weekend, Neilson would by my choice, knows the systems, play him as a 4/5th dman, limit his ice time and use him as a straight swap on the pp for Werner!

Surely he's retired now? But man alive, what a player he was. In the old BNL, he was top dog on the blue line - even ahead of Jan Krajicek.

Kenton Smith to Panthers seems to be happening. Should be a good pick up if true. Match fit, knows the league and a similar player to Werner.

To me this is a excellent pick up at short notice and very lucky to have someone already over here of simular playing style to Werner, id even keep Smith once Eric is fit and run 4 import D
