I was thinking that too but at least it gives us time to potentially plan things out. Then on top of that it sounds like we should be hearing of two signings quite soon which sounds interesting.

Good that this is coming early. They must be assured of the number of teams playing this season? But hey don't be surprised if it has changes later on...look at this last season gone by with the Cup plan that added a series of games just to have one club drop out in the first round when the games could have been used better elsewhere in the Play-Offs.

I also hate it, i would prefer it if it was maybe one game on the saturday then the other on the sunday. I hope they treat the game as just a league game because the league is more important than the cup.

I'm not sure about having a game on New Years Eve.
Start it early and people may not have finished work, start it later and people won't go because of getting to parties.

Leave it with me for an hour or so when I get to work and I'll have them done for everyone who lives by their Outlook calendars!

Really disappointed with the amount of Sunday games. I totally understand that there is a pecking order for dates at the arena and that we will need to play some Sundays.
My issue is the face off time, I have no problem with Sunday home games, but 4pm just sucks. It's always going to be a bit of an "I'm alright Jack" situation if it doesn't effect you,... but Sunday is just a normal working day now for so many people and 4pm is still very much in work time.
I remember reading somewhere that the face off time was popular for families with kiddies,.. fair do's,.. Understand that,. but would an hour or so later make that much difference ? Blaze face off at 5.15pm on Sundays and Hull at 6pm. We should do something similar IMO. 4pm is just too early.
We have 8 fixtures on a Sunday this year not counting playoffs and any further Cup ties. The timing of the face off means it's likely we will miss them all. I wish the management would make it a bit easier on Sunday workers and move the start of the game to 5.15pm.

Hang on, Saturday is just as much as a working day as Sunday, I have worked continentals (which cover saturday nights) theres no absolute suitable time anymore that you could say is a day off for most people . Im not keen on sundays btw

I gather its just like that at the moment as they haven't decided on a face off time yet. New Years Eve is classed as a normal working day as its not at the weekend, so I would think a lot of people would miss a 4pm start for example

Has anyone noticed we have 2 away games against Cardiff on a thursday night? That to me is an odd choice of nights by the Devils.
I'm happy with face off times but I do get peoples issues with the 4PM starts - if people work until 5, its a no go. 6pm faceoffs would be better but then you run the risk of losing the families who go on a sunday with late faceoffs. It'd be interesting to compare two like for like fixtures in the same season with one at 4 and one starting at 6 to see if the numbers add up to more attending at 4pm.

I wish the management would make it a bit easier on Sunday workers and move the start of the game to 5.15pm. Admittedly, 2 more Sunday games than in 2012/13 and 2011/12, but also only 4 'Midweek' games v 13 last season & 8 in 2011/12. Getting into Nottingham from Long Eaton on midweek evenings is a frustrating / stressful experience with all the delays caused by the Tram works, on top of rush hour traffic, so fewer of these is most welcome! I'm with you on the Face-Off time on Sunday's though - 4:00 pm totally screws our day, but I doubt if any amount of complaint or lobbying will make the slightest bit of difference! I guess everyone has their own preferences, dependent upon their individual circumstances, so you will never please all of the people all of the time!

I understand why some people are unhappy with such early face off times on Sunday, but as someone with a young family the early finishes are really good.
