GB just won their first game. 4-3 against Norway. Outstanding result. Wouldn't have put Norway as one of the teams they were expected to beat as GB were only promoted from Dvision 2 this year. Goals from Bronnimann (2), Dowd and Wood. For anyone interested these games have live scoreboards running on www.iihf.com within the tournaments section. GB are in Division 1, group B.

According to GBSC, Norway were the top seeds. A brace for former Invicta junior turned Guildford Flames star Ollie Bronnimann seals the deal. It's also worth noting that one of the coaches is Head of Junior Development (or something similar) for the Nottingham Junior IHC Mike Urquhart.

Yep. Norway were relegated from the top division this time round and are looking to get back up there. Not sure what happened to their netminder though. We either had some really good shots or he was really bad. Maybe they put their back-up in because they know how badly GB U20s did last time they got up to division 1. 4 goals from 13 shots! Full game stats (and I mean really full) here

His wife, Laura is the coach of the Nottingham Vipers.

Unfortunately they can't as they just lost 3 -1 to Italy. Looks like quite a few badly timed penalties helped their downfall. It's not just the fact that they do the stupid stuff, it's when they do it that makes the most difference

Italy with 3 pp goals.
GB 46 pims Italy 20 pims
Hope Mike has a few words with them,
especially with Bronnimann (18 pims) and D Phillips (14 pims) tonight.
For alot of these players its the last year in the U 20`s..it would be nice if the next group of players for this age group could start off in this division.

Looks like quite a strong game for GB though France were a team we really needed to beat. France equalised twice before GB took the lead again in the 57th minute. Last goal was a short handed ENG.

We've got 18 PIMs to their 4. Saying that, 10 of them was for a misconduct penalty
