Don't post on here very often, but wow.... What a weekend. Friday's game was incredible, the boys kept fighting and didn't drop their heads. For my own sake, I'm glad I didn't try and film the final minute; I don't think I'd have managed to keep hold of my phone when the empty net goal went in. I did film the trophy presentation though:

We came, We Saw and we raided the trophy cabinet. An unforgettable weekend. Meeting the players afterwards was a real treat and they were really great guys especially ling, DAB, and Clarke.

Been Going for pretty much since i can remember, old barn days and moving into the arena. Brings tears to my eyes and brings me such joy to say we've finally done it! WE ARE NUMBER 1!

Got to say, Corey has answered every criticism as coach. Some said even after the double double that they were the 'easy' trophies. The ones you play well for for a few weeks and win. Now we've got the big one and we've won it with the best EIHL team of all time.

I was going to say , how do you think this panthers team compare to the Sheffield double winners of 2003/4 , Coventry grand slam team of 2004/5 and Belfast side of 2005/6 which included theo ?

Still the sour grapes in Belfast show no sign of going off; just read this classic on FB:- "David maybe you can answer a question I have ?? why is it that Michael ( anti Belfast ) Hicks is able to referee nearly every game the Panthers play in? he is quite rightly regarded as the panthers extra player by many fans.....and he always always has it in for the Giants who he seems to officiate for in many games !!!!!!! he is a disgrace" Maybe we should retire Hicks' shirt ?

Cat's Whiskers TV's Paul Balm has written a fantastic article giving a personal and considered opinion of the whole Belfast weekend. It hasn't sunk in yet!

If Hicks was supposedly on our side, how come he awarded Belfast a penalty shot? (which they successfully converted). A penalty shot is one of the rarest calls by any referee, and also one of the easiest for any allegedly-'bent' official to avoid giving. If Hicks truly was biased, there is no way he would have made that call. But hey - logic (along with any kind of sense of fairness, humanity or connection to reality) seems to be somewhat lacking in a fair few of the Giants fan base.

That's whether gave Belfast a PS and a 5 on 3 against us on Friday? They really a 'special ' bunch are those lot across the sea Far more bitter than Sheffield have ever been towards us .

For me it was an incorrect PS too. They got the shot away, 2 minutes would have sufficed.

From what i've read, the comments from the Sheffield fan base have been very fair minded and complimentary. Fair play to them.
Belfast on the other hand............

Just bear in mind that a handfull of posters on KOTG do not necessarily represent the majority of thier fans views. The few Giant fans that we talked to face to face seemed alright.

Fair point but I genuinely don't think ive seen a single negative/spiteful/bitter (call it what you like) comment from Up North - even Glynn was complimentary Nobody is suggesting that all Belfast fans are the same but there seems to be much more bitterness coming from over the Irish Sea than there is from up the M1

They are not a rival and are down the list of teams that I like to see us beat.

What would Steelers fans be saying if it was them that Panthers had beaten to the title. They were out of it a few weeks ago really and Belfast fans have a bitter pill to swallow.

And another fact, if I'm not mistaken, we've not been shut out once so far this year.

Shouldn't that be SHORTEST losing run? lol No i think it means the longest losing streak we have had is 1 game, rather than we have the shortest losing streak, if that makes sense
