That's a good point actually Ted. Has anyone done 3 in a row before? That's quite an achievement in itself! Don't think so Nem - at least not in the Elite League era. Think you guys did it back in the 90's though? Quite an achievement though as you say Yes, as above mate. First for the EIHL though, great achievement.

This bronze placing is a farce. As much as coming up with us not having a grand slam because , because....

Can't be sure but Edinburgh or we have to say Murrayfield had a good run years back.Top team who cleared up the domestic scene for seasons in a row.

Congratulations to everyone concerned in helping to make this magnificent achievement, will long be a memorable moment.
Two black spots though. Any respect I may have had for Steelers supporters went our the door forever to-night. How Low can you sink - to interupt the National Anthem with mass chants of steelers, steelers is unforgivable, pity they can't all be incarcerated in the tower. Also to celebrate with cheers when one of our injured players was trying to leave the ice disgusts me. They are certainly not honorable British Citizens or sportspersons of even the lowest order. Rant Over, now going to wallow in enjoying our achievement.

I suppose Steelers fans may think the same about us, we always sing 'we hate steelers' through the middle of the National Anthem which is also disrespectful to the anthem, so there can't really be any argument on that one.

And, thanks to Spik pointing it out, we now have 21 trophies in our locker room, the same as them up the road i believe. This season has had so many quirks of fate about it its unreal, its one of those things we will refect back on and claim it could have been written in the stars

Wow that was fantastic, awesome hockey, great game. Full credit to the Giants for giving it absolutely everything. I am planning an emigration so I picked a good season as my potential last one. Wow...just wow! Feels so great to be a Panther right now.

It was awful. Both teams should be ashamed for pathetic play. Next year they should go back to junior international and peewee hockey.

Giroux put up the thread title, I'm in the "not a Grand Slam" camp personally - although the conference should be played in a way that would've meant we won that too (all games) - but I don't really care tbh and I'm not going to argue about it. And btw, that dirty mustard colour we like to think of as gold, not orange

When was the last time 2 hat tricks were scored in one playoff game by the same team?

Haha yes, you still cant get that right can you lol, your kit looked weird today, yellow shirts with mustard socks lol. one day , all about trophies atm for you guys i guess haha.

If there isn't a trophy to play for in the conference (if you win the conference you have to buy a trophy) how can it be included in a grand slam.

Winning the conference is not a creditable trophy. It's like winning the East in the NHL, nobody cares if you lose the other.
It's a Grand Slam.

One Steelers fan goes a little too far with a banner. We chanted We're the Nottingham Panthers to which he put "your the nottingham w***ers". He thought he was being clever, but as we can count and he had missed a letter. What he should have put was "WINNERS" . We had the last laugh though, when someone complained, a steward went to take it down. The other poster which read "future is still orange", personally I prefer fizzy orange to still. ;D The Panthers fans who had the banner "The Only Way Is Nottingham" if you take the first letter from each word you get T.O.W.I.N. Classic.

Anyone else think it just a little embarrassing how overboard the Steeler fans went chanting for Belfast?

Anyone else think it just a little embarrassing how overboard the Steeler fans went chanting for Belfast? Yes! Ill admit I was cheering for Blaze in the Saturday game, not nearly as much as I do panthers though. I even saw steelers fans STAND UP AMD CHEER when the girl skated past them with the BELFAST FLAG! Now call me petty, but that's being a little OTT.

Congratulations to everyone associated with the Nottingham Panthers in winning the GRAND SLAM!
and yes it is a Grand Slam because Gary Moran says so!
If anyone says anything different then so be it. Panthers players / fans etc.. can claim it as a grand slam. Dunno about belfast, but I heard Braehead had to go out and buy a trophy for their conference win; so it's hard to classify that weirdly formated conception as counting for anything...

Anyone else think it just a little embarrassing how overboard the Steeler fans went chanting for Belfast? In honesty nearly every other fan was so you cant focus purely on steelers, Cardiff was pretty vocal as well. Its always the same and just makes that victory sweeter in my mind. Lets not pick over everything them up the road do and enjoy that triple crown feeling

Would have been much more entertaining to have the peewee's playing, or the final of an under 16 or under 18 national competiition. At least it would have meant something then..
