Belfast made a terrific game of that.

A Grand Slam without going bust!
Beauty of a game, nail biting stuff from start to finish. I feel drained, god knows how the players are.

Great match and a great advert for the Elite League. A fantastic effort from Belfast. I always thought it was going to be tight. OK Ling has been outstanding and his set up play from the left has been great to watch - and his goals. However he missed an open goal at the back door (as Stewart had earlier), hitting his skate and then took a needlessly stupid penalty with a slash. What a wonderful feeling this treble is! The next question is how to keep it going.

next question is how to keep it going. Win another one next year Fantastic result to end a fantastic season, fitting that the consistently excellent Jordan Fox got the winning goal too. It could be a very long time before we see another year like this one.

Wow, what a season. I'd decided a couple of months back against going to play offs this year, gutted I missed it but the sky coverage was good... hopefully it'll draw some newbies in around the country. Our first goal was an incredible fluke! We had times where we completely dominated but credit to Belfast they never gave up, and gave us quite a scare. Personally I expected them to get the winner at the start of OT when they had the powerplay. Good effort from both teams, some great chances wasted on both sides though, could've easily been a higher score line.
It'll be interesting to see how many of this team Corey can get back next season. Simms mentioned something about Ling retiring after this season... anyone know if there's any truth in that?

It was the single worst thing I have ever seen. You're right there were no penalties... actually there was no contact at all throughout. I suppose a win is nice for Thommo but next year I'm going to stay in bed until the final.

It was little more than a glorified training session.

We deserved a bit of luck with that first goal after Broadway Tom Darnell's performance. Have to say, WHAT A PHENOMINAL GAME OF HOCKEY. Any neutral fan must have loved that. Fantastic advert for the game. Congratulations boys! Won't be jealous of your heads tomorrow morning

Is it only me that sees the irony in the fact that the winning goal was a powerplay for Belfast having too many men on the ice? How many line changes have we goofed over the seasons and yet it provides a defining moment in Panthers history.
Belter of a game and I feel we should congratulate Belfast for pushing us every step of the way in the League and the grand final. Hopefully their off ice saga can be reolved without too much fuss so that they can prepare for next season.

Yates - its really the process and the signings i was thinking about - but yes- however to settle for 7 trophies in 3 years is a special time.

That was my 25th playoff final and I think probably the best. Superb game.
And a treble? I never thought I'd see a Panthers team like this one. They've been remarkable.

Well done Panthers on winning the treble this season. Up there with the Blaze 04/05 team now.

Well done by the Panthers. I suspect next year will be another given the problems in Sheffield and Belfast.

Well done folks. Not a bad game in the end, I feared you would run away with it after the second but credit to Belfast they dug deep.
On another note. It was made quite clear in the post match briefings/press conferences by the league that this will NOT be recorded officially as a grand slam, sorry. Much to Mr Black's protestations I might add, but thems the facts.
Anyway, the team of the the year has done a deserved treble and will go down as one of, if not the best team to ice in the EIHL to date.

We've had some great players over the years and teams that have won trophies but this team right here is the best team we've ever had. From back to front they bled for this club and went to war for the fans. Not our greatest third period but in overtime we had enough. So happy to have been a part of this season - the serial moaners who said this team wasn't good enough at the start or we'd never suceed with Corey in charge have been proven wrong in every way.
All I can say right now is I'm proud and thank you to the players (I am sure they won't read this but hey ho) for the best moments of my life as a Panthers fan.

It was little more than a glorified training session. unfortunately it was the last game of the season so pointless using it as training - hope they revert to the international and PeeWee,'s for next year - award show was not bad though (probably because we won most of them)

Wow! Where to start?
What a game. What a day. What a weekend. What a season and what a team!!!
I can't imagine that I'll ever see another season like this. First league title in a lifetime, cup winners then the cherry on the icing on the cake, third play off victory in a row.
So proud of this group of players. Going to be a long summer.........

That's quite an achievement in itself!
