Interesting. I'd assumed (as did many others) that Josh was back for next season. As you say, he's not listed on the OS yet Boxill is. No mention of a two way contract anywhere either The logic that I had applied (in my own little world) relating to both Levers (who has now signed elsewhere) and to Ward, was that Corey had these on hold maybe waiting on the outcome of Farmer. It amy still be the case with Josh. No more than an educated guess though. Makes sense Gman - seems to have all gone quiet with Farmer though? Any news on what he's doing next season? He was rumoured to be off to the ECHL at one point; not sure he'd come to Panthers now. Where would he fit into our roster? Can't see him coming here to be either a 10th forward or on a 4th line with 2 young Brits such as Ward and Boxill

Ted they way i would see this IF farmer did come to Nottingham then he would be moved to one of the top lines and an import would be moved back to defence pretty much the same way as we did last season with Fox... either that or sign a spare/another import who is a defenceman and rotate some of the forward players...

Or play 4 forward lines and sign another Brit (e.g. Ward)

Fair point Tex - both seem like reasonable options although I prefer the latter I think

Personnaly I would like you not to have a spare, and to play on a equal playing field, no disrespect but the play offs are played at yours, signing extra imports is disrespectful to your opposition of which without, you are no-where. That is said with due respect and reality.

We're not the only team to use spare imports (Belfast, Sheffield, Coventry and even Hull have done so) and I bet we won't be the only team who is likely to do so this season. There is no "equal".

I think Cardiff should play fair and stop poaching poor Panthers' best Brits off them when we can't compete on wages. And they've got a stronger Brit pack over all. It's just not fair. AND they have their own ref most weekends and at play off finals weekend.

It's just not fair. AND they have their own ref most weekends and at play off finals weekend. We very rarely get our own ref, if you check the statistics we were laboured with Darnell or Hicks roughly 75% of the time. Don't forget Hicks tried out for the Devils team years ago and was turned down- surely him reffing us is a conflict of interest? (as is Dean Smith reffing us also, neither should really be allowed.) However given the geography of the league it's understandable as dragging someone else (I.E. Wilson, Hanson) down from up north would be unrealistic, so we make do... I think Matt Myers had his heart set on moving back to Cardiff anyhow, he played with us prior, is cardiff through and through, his wife wanted to move back after getting married here earlier this year. It was always on the cards. I'd agree we possibly have a stronger brit-pack, arguably only Sheffields is on equal footing with the securing of Dowd, and Farmer yet to confirm his existence anywhere... but i think it's been well documented that Myers took a pay-cut to return back 'home' to play his hockey, therefore i don't think this was a wage related move, but a similar one to Dowd returning to Sheffield etc. With regards to the spare import, if you can afford it, do it, you don't see other teams complaining in football for example just because the top teams have a stronger bench for when a player is injured. We don't have the crowds in Cardiff to warrant forking out for a spare guy to sit out every game, fingers crossed in the new arena this changes as our gates will be higher. Please don't feel like i'm trying to argue with you, this is not my intention, merely raising a couple of points of discussion
