By the looks of it, there are some on BOTH fanbases who are unhappy with tonight's score... some Coventry fans wanting the Blaze to lose, just to stick it to us! What a bunch of sad <self-moderated>...

Is it true some of their fans were wishing they got beat tonight to stop us winning?
I really hope so.

Apparently B Leeb threw Sandrocks stick into the crowd after Sandrock speared him! He has got a pretty dodgy temper on him sometimes!

An 'open letter' has appeared on KOTG. Laughable.
Three title wins (including last season) since they came into existence in 2000 (plus other trophies) and due seemingly to the fact they're not getting their own way this season some of their fanbase thinks the world is falling in on them! Yes Panthers fans have produced similar 'open letters' but no title since 1956 is a bit different to no title since last season!
I hate to quote GM the GM but "the ticket says versus not beating" is as true now as the day he said it and applies to all teams.
To add: I agree with some of the points already made., far too early for rival fans to be 'awarding' the title. If history has taught us anything there is no team in the league with quite the level of ability of Panthers with regards to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Reading KOTG is like reading the cage every other year than this year.
As James says, anyone would think that they've not won anything in years and the league is unassailable - it's still 2 points with plenty of hockey left. With Belfast's slip ups and our loss to Sheffield, it's certainly a 3 horse race IMO.
There are no gimmes, no certainties and it's done to who can hold their bottle. Will our big game experience from playoff victories and challenge cup achievements help us? Will Sheffield's ability to get wins out of nothing help them? Will Belfast's achievement last season give them the edge in the final sprint?
Either way, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a season as much as this one.

If history has taught us anything there is no team in the league with quite the level of ability of Panthers with regards to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It wouldn't even have to be a collapse of historic proportions for us to see the title go to someone else this season... after all, we are only 2pts ahead of Belfast and only 3pts ahead of Sheffield, with only 1 game in hand over each of them - and we have to play both of them twice more! Despite the gold-medal-winning synchronised-seppuku performance going on over on KOTG (I agree with you - utterly ridiculous, isn't it?) neither Belfast nor Sheffield can be said to be 'poor' teams or easy to beat. This title race is close, very close... anyone saying that any team has it in the bag is fooling themselves.

What I don't understand is its the same on the Blaze forum as well as KOTG. Unless they're winning its "this is horrendous" "I'm not watching this" or my personal favourite..."should we drop down a league?" It wasn't long ago they won the grand slam! That's what I like about us and Steelers fans is that we get frustrated at missing out but we pick up and carry on.
(Did I just compliment the steelers?)

I'm a Giants fan, and I think this is the first time there has been massive dissent throughout all of the regular fans. End of the day you can't win every game, nor do we expect to. However this season in terms of on ice product and entertaining hockey has been by far the worst I have witnessed in all of Giants history.
Yes we are a successful team, and have had 3 league titles in our short history, as well as other honours. I think being demanding for more from our team keeps is successful, we are a tough fan base to please and are happy to let the team know when performances aren't acceptable.
It's a miracle we are second in the league, we have been garbage, with the team constantly not showing up, and getting embarrassed on home ice.
End of the day it isn't acceptable. We have been graced by some Stella teams in Belfast, and every team are expected to measure up. I guess that keeps us successful and winning leagues.

Your probably right on that last count Chris. All teams are different in their make up.Look at us, indifferent in the past but successful never the less.Though to listen to Sheffield fans we are a laughing stock....we will see at seasons end.Without being big headed 3 trophies this year will equal Sheffields tally but they'll come up with some quibble....,If you lose again tonight you may well be 3rd in league.Lets hope your not.....but always remember what we have said about missing out on the league........'there's always next year'.....

Have to say that as a Blaze fan, I couldn't give a monkeys uncle who wins the league if its not us, it's more important for me that we rack up as many points as we can to maintain our own league position and hopefully end up top 4 and not slip down to the lower places. I don't think any real fan would want to lose a game to stop another win the title and risk our own position. Ok the "anyone but them" attitude is prevalent, but surely that is what our rivalry is built on and I'm sure that feeling is true in both directions. You've turned us over a few times this year, Belfast haven't done it as often or with such high numbers, if that's the same for all your opponents then you will deserve to end your league drought!

It's the fact that we have a very good chance this year (more so than others) that makes this look like we MAY lose it. But as said before this is far from over. Coventry win again tonight (Saturday 16th) and Nottingham can breath a little easier as far as Giants go.Sheffield lose tonight and we can sit up and believe its just about on.........ish.
