Tessier the reason why you think Panthers should be winning the league, is the reason why the premiership is so boring,vi.e biggest, richest win it.

Anyway, not looking too promising on Benedict being involved this weekend. Why? What has happened? The OS said it was all sorted and that he was on a plane Wednesday night or Thursday morning at the latest....

I'll just say that when im giving Panthers my money every year for a season ticket i do get a bit of a "i want i get attitude". I want to see the team win and the league has been a target of the fans for years but we still don't get it. If Black wanted the league we could have won it by now. Do you not expect a return on your investment in the club Shaggy?, its ok being entertained by the games but its embaressing for a club like Panthers to STILL not have won the league since 1956! The Hull fans give their money to their club every year. i bet they want a trophy. Doesnt mean theyll get it. And theres a reason Neil Black is a succesful business man who is one of the few men who can afford to run a hockey club - because he realises that if he overspent, he's be putting other clubs out of business and without other clubs, his business is worthless. If you have a problem with NB, contact him and voice your concerns. Tell him how to spend his own money - ultimatly youre putting money into his business, which Panthers is, he is entitled to spend the money accordingly. And if you don't like the way it's being spent, don't give it to him. Or become a Steelers fan and watch your money go down the toilet every other season to keep fans, who like yourself, don't see the bigger picture. And yes I want to see us win the league. But not at the expense that this team folds. As pervious posts have pointed out, the ISL didn't work and the routes youre suggesting are exactly what caused that leagues downfall ::)Since when is a lower level club like Hull anything like the Panthers organisation and why would it put other clubs out of business if Panthers won the league for once? Looks to me like many posters on here are'nt really that ambitious about winning the league. Maybe we've got the management we deserve?

There it is... the highlighted bit. That is the kind of thinking with which I completely disagree, a kind of false logic, and without getting that out of your head there is absolutely no way that we are going to see eye-to-eye. Wanting to win the league may help. Massively out-spending everyone else may help. Any number of other factors may help. But there are no guarantees. There are so many variables involved... it's impossible to predict or guarantee... and no amount of blathering on about "if Sheffield/Coventry/Belfast can do it then that proves we're slacking" (as is a common theme on this subject) is going to change that. Sometimes I wish life were that simple, that clear-cut... but it's not. Bite the reality sandwich... Well if we don't try, we'll never know Shaggy. Im willing to go on record we'll never win the league while NB/GM are in charge. If there were more fans willing and vocal enough about we might actually get somewhere.

The OS said it was all sorted and that he was on a plane Wednesday night or Thursday morning at the latest.... Whilst I'm sure they are correct this time wasn't it just the other week that the official Facebook page had a post on it (fairly quickly removed) that claimed Fox had his visa sorted and was on his way, which went against a Twitter post he made the same day claiming the exact opposite?

are we actually going to be at full strength?
Tuma still sounds suspect, and Benedict was apparently flying in on Thursday but no update on that and the NEP say's hopeful to get here in time to ice on Saturday.... why leave it to the wire?

"got the management we deserve." spot on. The worrying thing is people might actually start hitting breaking point and stop going. Then what?
Bringing benedict in the day before a crucial game, disgraceful.

Bringing benedict in the day before a crucial game, disgraceful. They'd be doing well to get him into the country without a passport. I know our border officials get a bad press at times but I think even they'd spot that one. It just makes me laugh how most people seem to have the attitude of "Oh well, the club must be doing their best". Wake up people. I don't think most people have that attitude at all, we all see a great many aspects where the club could improve and things we're not happy about, we just don't all see the root cause of every problem to be how much money Neil Black spends on the team (something which none of us have any idea of the figures of, or how they stack up against the other 9 teams), like you seem to. We may not be at full strength this weekend because of: a) an injury, part of sport, get over it, and b) Benedict's visa. Is that not Brandon Benedict's fault? It's his visa after all. He's played in the UK for years now, he must know the process. He was signed plenty early enough, why didn't he apply immediately? Does he need Gary to fill in the forms for him?

That would be one hell of a line for an opposition to have to face. Just for the pure 'wind-up' talent, leaving aside the actual skating, passing and shooting ability.

Tuma "dressing for the weekend"
Is there any reason it doesnt just say - "also fit to play is Tuma"
rather than "also dressing for the weekend"
Am I reading too much into it or does it imply he is still recovering and isnt likely to feature very much ?
i,e its GM spin again

Didn't there used to be a function whereby you could ignore specific posters?
Can we have it back?

Remember when Jordan Fox had a bad back against the Clan and there was an article on the website about it? Oh that's right, there wasn't, because it would have been just about the stupidest thing the club could have done. Sometimes, there is information we just don't need to know. On the visa/import arrival issue - yes the club have to take some of the fall for this. However, the whole process was complicated by the Olympics and that created a huge back-log. As someone has said - Brandon Benedict can't travel without his passport/visa. If that has been sitting in an immigration office for three months, there isn't a great deal he can do. We are two games in to the season. Chill out people.
