Went to the gig last night, first suprise was Thin Lizzy as support who were awesome with their new line-up, (vocalist similar voice to Phil Lynott). They came on stage at half past eight with the crowd getting a little annoyed at the delay, probably Axel induced, but halfway through they had people in the seats standing and clapping, good effort for a 'support' band. They played for over an hour and a quarter, also good for a supporting act. Then another delay of three quarters of an hour, and much gnashing of teeth, before G n'R finally appeared but they soon got the crowd back 'on side', and proceded to play a mixture of old classics and new material (Lee). they eventually left the stage at half past one, after playing for three hours, with a thankyou from Axel to everyone for putting up with him, nice touch. Awesome nights entertainment. Axel might or might not be a 'dic*', but he is one hell of a showman, and he still has has his unique voice intact.

His voice sounded stronger than i remember - less scratchy. Set list: Chinese Democracy Welcome to the Jungle It's so Easy Mr Brownstone Sorry Rocket Queen Estranged Richard Fortus "solo" Live and Let Die This I love Tommy Stinson "solo" Dizzy on Piano Street of Dreams You could be mine DJ Ashba "solo" Sweet Child of Mine bit of a jam, sounded like pink floyd, which eventually went into "another brick in the wall" November Rain Bumblefoot "glad to be here" Don't Cry Better Knockin' on Heaven's door (probably went on a little too long - only "complaint" Nighttrain
Encore Madagascar Civil War Paradise City

glad it was good and you enjoyed it, still don't feel i missed anything,
if Slash, Duff and Matt rejoin i'll be there, until then i don't want to see anyone else play Slash solos.
hence why i'll be seein him at download.

Duff has played with Axl before, and said he didnt want to detract from a great job the new members are doing. Slash and Myles Kennedy are pretty good.

I went, thought it was brilliant. It'd almost be better if they were rubbish then you could get more annoyed about his lateness, but they're worth the wait. Thin Lizzy were good too, wasn't sure how I'd feel about them without Phil but it was good to hear those songs played well. And, despite the somewhat muted reception, Tommy Stinson playing Motivation from his Village Gorilla Head album, I'd've paid to see that alone, ace
