Lepines hit, discuss. Looked ok to me, Lepine turned and they collided with the guy unlucky enough to hit Leps shoulder. That was a massive hit! No malice just big and clean All that garbage from coventry fans think that Domish `hit` francis when he merely flipped him ... Now that was THE hit of the season, beautifully timed and a travesty a pen was called

Congrats to you guys but in all fairness having a bye in the semis, not your fault, and then playing a depleted team who played 70 mins against the league champions earlier on, and then playing in your own barn surely anything but a win would have been a no no. Its not the Panthers fans fault one iota, but the sooner we all play on a level playing field the better. You guys have the best facilty its true, but its about time this mickey mouse league forked out for ice at either the MEN or the O2 and made this truelly a neutral venue. At £45 for a ticket for the final that cant be to far fetched as that was the price on Sunday. Wow, you a little bitter?? Watched the game last night on Sky+ in full, gutted to miss it live but this was quality. Love the Panthers and am so proud we have won it back to back not to mention the 3 challenge cups. Corey has done a great job in winning 4 trophies. I know we want the league but this has been an immense effort having been 3-0 down to the Clan in the Q/F

I know we want the league but this has been an immense effort having been 3-0 down to the Clan in the Q/F I love all these people who think we can just take our little hockey game to the O2 or MEN - or suggest we move it around so every team has a go at hosting. Im just wondering if these people would be prepared to pay the £300-£400 for a weekend ticket just to make hosting at these premium venues finacially viable? Or lets go and host it at a tiny rink so only an extremely small section of each fanbase can go and watch - yeah that would be good

yeah, cos we'd fill the 02 and it would be so cheap to stay on london for a weekend!

yeah, cos we'd fill the 02 and it would be so cheap to stay on london for a weekend! your missing the point... Panthers have won it 2 seasons running now so something has to change, we're simply not allowed to win anything on merit. there has to be a reason why we won it thats not fair. ;D

Lets not forget due to circumstance on Sunday we automatically became the highest seeded team and as far as i know should then automatically get to be the "home" team. I was amazed they announced cardiff as the home team as under no criteria could i see how that was justified?.. Exactly the same way as you ended up playing Hull in the semi's. When Hull beat Sheffield they took the second seed place or else you would have played us. When we beat Belfast on saturday we took first place seeding hence then becoming home team. Rubbish, well done on beating giants and well done Hull on beating the steelers but that doesnt change the fact that the seedings were based on finishing league position and that placed giants 1st Panthers 3rd cardiff 4th and Hull 7th. No amount of fiddling is going to change that THEREFORE once there is no giants it makes Panthers the highest seed which imho should have given them the home team status for both games really...

Well, as the home team, would you not have chosen to shoot in the net in front of your own fans in block 10 twice and not the stage end.

No malice just big and clean Hanson thought so too as far as I could see, let the game go on and we went into the Cardiff zone. Then, inevitably, saw the player was down, had a panic attack and made up a call.

Seedings pre weekend dont change however the placings were set well before the finals weekend foxy and it isnt having it both ways. OK for those that cant or wont grasp it, Teams were always going to play as per set out i.e. TEAM ONE 1st in the league versus 8 in the league being league champions buys them afternoon game ie most rest IN THIS CASE BELFAST TEAM TWO 2nd in the league plays 7th in the league being 2nd means they get the evening game (as it has been for as long as seedings have been used) IN THIS CASE HULL TEAM THREE as the next highest placed seed ie 3rd will play 6th. IN THIS CASE IT WAS PANTHERS. The winners would then play TEAM TWO giving the maximum advantage to the winners of the league (if they had won to become TEAM ONE) by playing what should be the lowest placed seed from the quarter finals (ie the winners of the last pair TEAM FOUR). TEAM FOUR the lowest placed seed ie 4th would play 5th for the final league seedings placed and being the lowest seed then play the winners of TEAM ONE... ALL VERY SIMPLE and all things being equal would play the lowest seeded team in the league hence that IS THE ADVANTAGE... the simple fact of the matter is the league champions on the day did not beat the 5th placed team, no one elses fault but their own. Now moving on to the seedings on the day IT IS FIXED Belfast were seeded 1st Panthers were seeded 3rd Cardiff were seeded 5th and Hull 7th as per their league finishing places, when belfast got knocked out it left Panthers as the highest seed in the competition. As the highest placed seed they should have been given the home "advantage"... All academic as they won anyway

I seem to remember that the 'home' team for the final was decided by a coin toss in previous years

Not sure if this has been covered anywhere but has anyone got a dvd of the sky coverage of the final? Happy to pay of course. Either pm me or reply on thread.

Its sad when fans are so bitter that we won that they complain on the venue. Yes we do have a slight advantage being at our 'home' rink but like everyone says there isnt anywhere else! Feels to me that bitterness has taken over what should be seen as a fantastic achievement for our club. Not bitter in any way. It was a tense and gritty final which we couldn't have played any other way. I agree about the venue but give one valid reason why Nottingham should have the same bench and dressing room every year? This is after all a weekend the EIHL pay for not Nottingham. What's your point? Would the Devils have won if they'd had the Panthers dressing room and sat on the Panthers bench? Personally I think the Panthers would've beat the Devils had they got changed in the concourse bogs and used the concert bar next to the Zamboni entrance as a bench.

And to be fair you surely should have, having a full bench and playing at home, and also having a bye in the semi,s you were always going to take it, lets be honestly fair about this. Being honest i dislike any team having home advantage, but understand the logistics behind it, what pees me off more than anything is that at one time, due to the fact it was supposed to be a neutral venue the fans used to rotate each year giving the best views to different clubs. Now the team having to pay the least to be at the play-offs get the best seats year in year out, and for the life of me i cant see the fairness in this, neutral venue dont think so. I dont blame Panthers fans, i blame the system . So thats the season over hope everyone has a great summer, and lets get it on in a few months time.

Watching the videos even though I couldn't be there (before Keefe, Jono, Ian, Milky or whoever says it I am clearly the bad penny as we win things when I'm not there) makes me so proud to be a Panther. It isn't the league, the holy grail remains, but two trophies again is a fantastic achievement, well done lads. I also love all the Panthers vitriol, it's absolutely brilliant that everyone hates us, just makes it sweeter, people only hate their rivals or those they aspire to in sports even though they can't and won't admit it. I love being hated by other teams fans, it means we're successful and stable and I'll take that every day of the week.

DAB Goal Clarke goal Lepine hit You wouldn't be able to put the game on disk and sell it would you? I'd be happy to pay for it! Guess it's not particularly "correct" though. I don't have sky so haven't got it taped or anything and it'd be nice to watch in the off season!
