I may be very different to most Steeler fans but I'm finding this one hard to decide who to support. I can't support you for obvious reasons ;D but then I can't bear to lend any support to that idiot Paul Ragan however much I like Adams as a coach. Think I might have a sleep on this one......

Had we got Belfast in the final, I would have doubted our chances...
But with Cardiff, I fancy us - everytime we have won the playoffs, we have beat the Devils in the final

Only problem if Panthers win and keep winning, everyone else will soon not care about the playoffs like they do with the Challenge Cup

Should be a cracking game. I think for the rest of the league they wanted to see a Belfast/Panthers game but without meaning to sound too overconfident things seem to be falling nicely into place for us. We've got to be clear favourites but Cardiff are a very tough team and will certainly be no walkover. What I do know though is that regardless of what happens tomorrow the Panthers players AND fans will be branded classless by Steelers and Giants fans at some point and I would put my life savings on that. No one likes us, we don't care.

If Panthers win the trophy today then that will be 4 of the last 6 trophies, that's a better success rate than the over rated Christiansen......

Man. I really hope we do this. The double two years in a row would be epic. Would love the league next year with all this recent success but hey, this is the Panthers .

No chance, that league trophy is coming home to Sheffield!! Which pawn shop? Dave, just read something on Steeltalk that concerns me (aside from the usual idiots using foul language with kids around).... "The Playoffs are fast turning into a home game for Nottingham. I have never missed a playoffs in 20yrs and this is all getting very boring. Moron shouting at his fans from The Pants bench on a Megaphone. The Announcer saying that the only person from Sheffield on the ice tonight was the guy singing the National Anthem and the constant question to The Panthers fans again from the announcerasking if they Still Believed was just way way over the top. We had no entertainment, no fireworks, no dancing cheerleaders just a Nottingham home game." Now obviously I wasn't there (being from Sheffield ;D) but I have to say for a supposedly neutral venue the above bothers me. Not fussed about GM with a megaphone, he can do what he likes, but being goaded by the announcer and then him supporting one team over the other in the game is not on. It's a neutral venue and as such should have neutral people running it, including the announcer. If the above is true, then it really is a poor show from the Elite League and maybe it's time the location of the weekend should be looked at again. Be interested in your comments, along with others?

Have to agree with you on this one. This PO weekend has been really quite flat, worst I can remember. There's not enough fans from other teams to make it much more than a Nottingham game. A few years ago with The Storm/Phoenix, Vipers, Blaze fans in abundance and vocal it was great. There's very little on the concourses or in the entrance and I'd like some live bands on stage in between the games. But, can't argue that NIC is the most appropriate venue geographically, infrastructure etc etc PO needs something different but not a new venue (unless it's London)

Surely that's because other teams fans don't turn up? Granted it's easier for panther fans to get there and we tend to buy other teams blocks but you can't blame them for that.
The announcer should be completely impartial.

The announcer asked all of the teams if they believed, not just Nottingham.
I didnt hear him say anything (certainly over the tannoy) about the guy singing the anthem, and I certainly didnt see GM with a megaphone. (Many would boo him in any event).
It was more like a home game for Panthers last night, mainly because Hull were never going to realistically to stretch us, and as such there was little support from other sections of the crowd. I expect today to be quite different.

There is no other Arena suitable for the play off finals , the sheffield arena has seats that can only sit small people with dwarf legs , totaly unsuitable and whoever designed the arena with those seats made a big gaff , Belfast Arena although suitable would not attract the traveling fans as much as an arena on the mainland , wembley ? the ice plant has been ripped out , the 02 too large and the league would never be able to afford it , same with manchester we would never fill it . Until some other team can get an arena around the size of 6 to 8000 seats that ticks all the boxes we are stuck with the Nottm Arena , all these moans are going to hit deaf ears as there is no other options on the table , I personaly used to love the wembley weekends but alas no ice plant , Portable ice plants are not as good as fixed ice plants and are too expensive to hire, so the NEC Birmingham is also a no go although I can remember Layton errat scoreing a overtime winner in the final of the Autum cup at the NEC on a portable ice pad many years ago . but I think that ice pad was allready there for a Torvil and dean show or ice dancing championship and we just used it the weekend before or after . So we have the NIC for the playoffs for the forseabale future at least 5 years so live with it , it's not going to change .
I also think this is the main reason that Nottingham panthers do not win the league , many teams turn up for a league game thinking this is the play off venue and up theiir game against us , for some teams it's there only chance of playing at the play off venue in a league game against the panthers in an almost full arena .

The announcer should be completely impartial. I still think there should be a way to incorporate some of the teams who have been knocked out. Perhaps an all star styled game mixed up of players from said teams. Wouldn't be a serious game obviously but gives the likes of Edinburgh, Fife ...etc one last chance to see some of their players in action before the summer. Stupid idea? Oh and bring back the Scotland V England game please. With there being so many Scottish teams in the league now you'd think it has some potential. Definitely rather see some hockey rather than an awards show. Don't think the weekend needs a complete revamp, just freshening up a little. The location isn't the issue, it's the leagues handling of it.

I've definitely noticed a difference to this playoff. Is there a different announcer to previous years?
