Well done Giants.
The deal for the Challenge Cup/League Title is now complete.
The Playoffs are ours though......

Think with the team they started with at the beginning of the season, you would have thought this year was their year, then with their minor blips here and there, you had to think maybe it won't be their year, but they got there in the end, congratulations.

Would that be along the same lines as the "never win the league with a british net minder" personal opinion

I've changed the thread title EMB so people can post any congratulations to the Giants, or commiserations to the Steelers... OK, the first one.
Well done Giants, best team over the course of the season, table doesn't lie as the old cliché goes.

Yep, well done giants. Only team I've never felt confident of beating this year. Huge respect for them, great organisation. Hope they celebrate to the mac for st Patrick's day! )

Might not lie Yotes but it is certainly skewed with the crappy scoring system we use in the UK... Well done Belfast, but given the quality of the team signed at the start of the season and the replacements signed throughout then it comes as no surprise that most pre season predictions have actually come to pass is it... Be nice if next year panthers sign a squad of that quality and get in replacements of similar quality in plenty of time...

Goes to show the character of this years team, we needed a big performance and they put one of their best showing of the season in front of 7000 fans ..
Giants this year had a squad full of guys who gave 100% every shift, they played with an edge and were also very skilful, but what I liked most about this team is they played for one another.. What can i say '' This really was the year'' ;D

Well done Giants - Squeelbleat is in meltdown No it's not, most people seem to accept that Belfast deserved the title this year. Well done Giants, better them than the Panthers

Well done Giants - Squeelbleat is in meltdown Is it? Where? All I can see is pretty much everyone congratulating Belfast on their emphatic win and well deserved title. Please post a link to this 'meltdown' I can't find it. Ta.

Ta. something to do with getting rid of half the team as they are not good enough - maybe not total meltdown but kneejerk deffinitelly - the fickle hand of fate - well done Giants - must be a bit dissapointing having to congratulate two of your rivals in the same week - never mind there is always next year

think you'll find a lot of fans haven't been 100% happy with the team from very early in the season . Well done Giants , well deserved.

BTW there is always the Play Offs, and despite last night we still have a chance to end the year on a high

There is a difference. :-)

Well done Belfast, but given the quality of the team signed at the start of the season and the replacements signed throughout then it comes as no surprise that most pre season predictions have actually come to pass is it... Be nice if next year panthers sign a squad of that quality and get in replacements of similar quality in plenty of time... While true- we have had a lot of adversity this year, countless injuries to key players for periods of around 6 weeks- Rebek, Dowd, Pelle, Lloyd, McBride (before he left) and others i cant remember. Arguably our 2 best players Doucet and McBride were taken from us, one way or the other. Over at the Giants forum we werent so sure that Deniset and Hoffman were the right men. The former had just come out of retirement and didnt play well to begin with, and Mike "Beer league" Hoffman? We queried his desire to put an effort in for us. And he was a very different player to what we expected to come in- just as well it worked! Absolutely thrilled!!!! CC Champions- Nottingham Panthers Elite League Champions- Belfast Giants Playoff Champions- ?
