There's a real possibility that the title decider could rest with the Giants last game .... against Panthers in Belfast.
Assuming Steelers take 6 pts from the games against Hull, Edinburgh and Clan, then Steelers will be just 1 pt behind the Giants. Giants and Steelers to play each other twice; and Giants to play Panthers.
Hopefully Giants can get at least one regulation win against the Steelers to secure the title, then we can go slay the Giants on the final game of the season.
If Giants do NEED to beat us in that final game, then .... ?

I did say ' if giants can get 1 regulation win ...' Lee Where I can't see those words in your post? I can see "hopefully" Could come down to the final game though but I'd want panthers to beat what's in front of them however as we have nothing to play for I think Belfast would still win out of pure desperation

So if Belfast beat them either game this weekend, it's beyond the Yorks?

So if Belfast beat them either game this weekend, it's beyond the Yorks? Yes, 2 regulation wins for the Steelers required in Belfast. If that happens you can put in net who you like. So long as we then beat Hull, Edinburgh and the Clan the title will be in Sheffield. If we lose a game in Belfast then we would need you to beat them in the final game.

At present Steelers can get 92 points and Giants can get 95.
If the Steelers win their remaining 5 games in regulation (OT against the Giants is no good, but OT against the others is ok) then they will win the title by 1 point as Giants will have dropped those 4.
However, if Giants win on Friday they can still get 95 points (with 2 games left) and Steelers can only get 90 (with 4 games left,) therefore Belfast can win this weekend.
If the Giants get a win this weekend, it won't make a blind bit of difference what the Panthers do on the 24th.

If Belfast need to beat us to lift the title we:
Go to belfast, get 4-0 up, then pull K-wall, shoot at our own goal and capitulate, losing 4-5 with 30 secs to go. A la Steelers recent friends..er... i mean opponents.

The really good thing is for the second (third? wasn't paying attention 2 years ago we were pants,) year in a row now the league title race is coming down to the last 2 weekends of the season.
Ok it might be done with this weekend, but then again it might not. Last year we didn't know until the final hooter had gone who won, and even then it was a tie-break. Anything can happen in the next 2 weekends.

isn't there an "alleged" "verbal" agreement in place anyway, between Belfast & Nottm. Belfast help Nottm win the challenge cup, while Panthers help Belfast win the league....
Well last seasons the title could have been won by any of 3 teams, going into the last weekend of the season. Maybe for just 1 year, Nottingham could be in with a shot of the league title going into the final league fixtures of the season...

Pah! .. if giants dont do the job against Steelers next weekend, it could be us that hands the title to the Steelers. Whilst I'd be happy to see Green in net for the last game (after all, why risk K-Wall in a nothing game?) could you imagine the contradictory feelings that would run riot through the feeble mind of your average Steelers fan if Panthers were the ones to hand them the league by beating Belfast the final game if that scenario played out? I think DS the BS's head might explode.

It won't matter what happens on the 24th. Giants will have won the league by then.
The 24th's going to be a party, nothing more.

Just can't see 4 points for us. You never know of course. Think I'm just happy to have competed well in the league and seemingly avoided any financial meltdowns (so far!!). I think we've performed above expectations this year and a 2nd place finish is not to be sniffed at. Already looking forward to next year and seeing how Finner can refresh our Brit pack. This is where we have lagged behind this year imo.

Isnt it the summer when you guys go bust then start again? Plenty of time yet Perhaps they'll do some online 50/50 draw throughout the summer to cover any outstanding debts. 50/50 draws, they're the answer to all financial ills....
