......The Bracknell Bess have confirmed both D men Serge Dube and Steve Wiedlich have left the Bee Hive to return to CHL outfit Laredo Bucks the statement reads:
The Bracknell Bees regret to report that Serge Dube and Steve Weidlich are leaving the club. This decision comes to us as a complete shock and was very unexpected considering the form we are in at the moment. This decision was solely their own and they have decided to return to their previous club, the Laredo Bucks in the Central Hockey League.
Mike Ellis said, 'The club would like to release two separate quotes, firstly from management, which includes myself as coach. We feel that their decision is self-centred with no regard or loyalty to their team-mates.
The team’s point of view after meetings yesterday is that if they don’t want to be part of the team we don’t want them here and this will only pull us together and make us a stronger unit.
I have already confirmed one defenceman to replace the two. He comes to us with a lot of experience from the Superleague and the American league. He is also a strong character and a tremendous team guy. I know this from playing with him in the past. I am committed to picking up another d-man but as you can imagine it is tough at the moment with the majority of strong players and character players already signed. I still believe our character within our team has been the key to our success to this point.
I know this is disappointing to you all but I believe this will be just a minor hitch on our road to success. Our message to the fans is that over the next couple of weeks the team is going to need more support than ever, we’ll take care of the on-ice and we need you to take care of the off-ice.'
Mike Ellis – Coach, Bracknell Bees
Not happy reading for the Bees fans i bet!
