All the broke teams are signing extra players, yet still nothing from the richest club. P take.

Perhaps Vanderveeken is a builder on the side and is going to knock up one of those arena things that Ragend covets so. You know, the thing that will magically fill with Cardiff locals who currently can't even fill the BBT......

I'd sit on grass by the side of a frozen pond if panthers would win the league.

We will wait and see, we have been looking at options and I hear a D man and forward could possibly be coming in. I think there was a rumour that Philips from Coventry was a target but not sure now as that is who Finnerty wanted along with Weaver and he was turned down.

God help us; most over-rated, over-hyped player i've seen in a long time. I'd call him a muppet but that's an insult to Kermit & Co

I heard that Phillips was offered to Sheffield but they didn't want him and turned their attention to Fulghum. I agree with the sentiments below though. Phillips is cack and he must be one of the highest paid players in the league.

Apparently Tommo called Finnerty and told him he had to offload someone and asked who he wanted, 1st choice was Weaver... turned down, 2nd choice Philips.. turned down 3rd choice Fulghem (sp) accepted straight away and signed up before the announcement. Couple of coaches non too happy with the way this was handled.

That's not how I heard it, I heard that the Blaze offered finner Phillips, but he wasn't prepared to take a paycut from his huge contract, so we said no. We didn't want Weaver, I heard we then inquired about Fulghum as Fussey was injured.

That's not the rumour that reached my ears. Steelers were looking for a D-man at the time, we were looking to cut the wage bill and offered them Philips but they asked for Fulghum.
I've also heard that Steelers heard we were struggling and offered Fulghum a contract. Luke and his wife were both employed by the club so if the club folded they were both out of work - with a newborn kiddie. He gave his two weeks notice and left.
I've also heard that Panthers have offered a contract to at least one player who turned it down.
Not sure what I believe to be honest.

Steelers first asked for Weaver (refused),then Phillips (wouldnt go for less money),then it was Fussey (refused), so Fulghum was their 4th choice did a deal and packed his bags.

So you're Coventry, you want to dump some salary, do you phone your friend Simmsey, or do you pick up the phone and call Nottingham, a team with which you seem to have animosity?

I know, but how many teams in the league would be able to pick up the salary of someone like Fulghum at this point of the year? Probably only Nottingham, Sheffield and Belfast (although we all know he doesn't have enough AHL games to play there).
I'm really glad we were able to pick him up as well, he's really changed the dynamic of the team up front, he adds that scoring threat meaning we no longer just have the one big scoring line.

I just asked a question based on the runours various people were posting. And I agree, will probably never know.
