Personally I think it's a positive experience. Kalmikov appears to have broken the concrete off his gloves with 2+1 during the games, and hopefully JC will have got the scoring bug too.
Shame about Roman & Paul, but that's pro sports isn't it?
Shame we didn't progress, and there's no doubt some fans up the M1 who think it's funny that we've missed out only on goal difference, but hey, who cares what they think.
Good for the sport in this country, and it's heads held high for all those involved with the club
*Right, I'm guilty here as I've already started the ball rolling, but can we simply keep this as a poll rather than duplicating what you want to say on the Continental cup---cheers, Anton*

I am not going to vote postives all round as we got a couple of injuries.
It has been a success IMO though, if we can finish undefeated against some tough European teams we are more than capable than winning the league.
So far this season we have not really played as a team, but these past 3 games we have, especially against Milan. The defence has been outstanding and Cruicker is in supreme form. Kalmikov had a brilliant tournament and seems to have come out of his shell, lets hope he can bring it back to the UK.
Craighead had a good tournament minus the first game. He showed restraint in the second and third matches and got the GWG against Amiens.
Overall, I am delighted, apart from the injuries. But to put in the performances we did, (with a short bench) against some top European teams and get the better of all of them is outstanding.

I totaly agree anton.
After the various reports I have read, the other teams were playing hard hitting, aggrssive hockey. I think this will have shaken up the players enough to kick start some of their seasons. The only downside is, was it "Raised games" because of europe or have we finaly seen the team performing as it looks on paper? Hopefully the latter as that will be needed to have a successful season and hopefully bring home some silverware. The league as whole is looking better and more competitive so there are more teams who have a right to claim they have a chance for silverware.
Hopefully Panthers good display will have raised the profile of the Hockeey played here in the UK. All publicity is good publicity. We took on teams with NHL'ers (I know we have Roman but there is a diffrenc between an AHL being bumped up for a few games to alow slots in the AHL side as apose to full time NHL'rs) And we proved an equal match. This should encourage better players to come over.

These 3 games have been very positive for ther panthers and they have proved they can work well as a team, and with a short bench as proven. I'm sure this would have lifted the spirits of the team, given them a good kick start and hopefully we will see more of that for our leage. ;D Such a shame about the injuries and i hope the guys recover properly, but the team have shown what they are capable of and that they CAN pull together and work as a team, especially when the going gets tough.

I think it was a positive experience without a doubt. It was great for the fans, great for britain, great for the young brits and great for the club. The only downside was the injuries, but then again you can get injured in any game cant you. I really enjoyed the trip and hope that another opportunity will come round again in the not too distant future Thanks to Brenda and everyone else who helped organise the weekend ILuvPC x

I think there are 2 possible down sides. The injuries being the obvious one. The other problem being that it sounds like some of our players could well have put on a good enough show to be head-hunted out of the country at the end of this season, which could be a shame. We can hardly complain about our players playing too well though can we?!! Edit: Forgot ( ) to say: I think on balance it was a very good thing for the Panthers to be involved in. Especially if it kick starts some much needed momentum for when they start playing back in the UK – we’ve got some catching up to do!

I think the good points of the weekend are that the team have shown us and others what they can actually do and that they can play well together. But the down sides are that we have players injured, but i suppose that can happen anytime, whether its in France, back home or in training. Before the team went to France everyone wasnt happy with there performace, but now i havnt heard a bad thing said at all. I hope that they keep up this run of good games and team work and not let it slip away or take it easy now there back home.

Craighead had a good tournament minus the first game. He showed restraint in the second and third matches and got the GWG against Amiens. Believe me, he showed much restraint in the first game also ... Craighead had a great weekend from start to finish.

Believe me, he showed much restraint in the first game also ... Craighead had a great weekend from start to finish. He did indeed. It was silly getting throw out in the first game but I guess thats just the difference in rules. It would have been a 2+2 at Worst over here normally. As for the poll yes it was a great weekend away and lots of positives to be taken from it, the only down side(apart from the injuries ofc) is that no one started a 'ARE YOU WATCHING SHEFFIELD' chant. I wanted to but I'm too shy to start chants, I just join in.

Even though I got to see only 2 matches on the Sunday due to work commitments in France , I got the feeling from all at the amiens stadium , that the Panthers performances in Amiens would boost our season from here on in . and thats the most positive result of this tournament even with the injuries . Adam certainly enjoyed his stay with ****** so Im told . Yes I am sure it was well worth taking part , infact I would say even the opposing teams apreciated our efforts , this has put UK ice hockey on the map , I know of one Milano player enquiring as to which is the best stadium in the uk and what are the pay package/ car /flat /house etc , so will see some of these players who played for other teams in this tournament playing for a UK team next year ? METHINKS SO .

It would have been a 2+2 at Worst over here normally. a) He had no idea that the penalties were that severe (personally I put that down to lack of communication between cup organisers, officials, coach and players) b) It was hardly a fight. We've seen JC fight and that wasn't what he was doing. He couldn't back down so did the best thing he could do ... wrestled the guy to the ice and sat on him! Kudos to JC. I was impressed.

Like I said it was a 2 min peno or maybe a 2+2 if the ref felt like being a git but to get a game for it was stupid.
