After really enjoying the game in London on Sunday ,the evening was finished off by my son Connor handing John Craighead man of the match award. I rang Lindsey Richmond (PR Manager) of the London Racers on Monday to see how I would be able to obtain this picture as a momento. How helpful and professional she was, I had a lovely E Mail from her today giving me the name of their photographer,Tony Boot and that he would send me the photograph in question.A big thank you to all involved in the London Racers organisation especially Lindsey Richmond and Tony Boot.

You're more than welcome Lisa. Thank you for making the effort to come down to the Bike Shed. It was actually a great game I thought with just about every element you'd expect in a good hockey game!
Could I also thank all the Panthers fans who attended and made it the best crowd for us so far this season both in terms of numbers and atmosphere.
I know we had problems getting you in quickly at the start and the Bike Shed is no NIC, but we would love to see you again!
Cheers.

I can only speak for the supporters bus, It didn't take that long to get in, I am disapointed with the driver though.... He was asking everyone we drove past for directions... Kinda made the experince like a "Magical Mystery Tour" We made it though (The Boys were still out Warming up) and I had a good time. All being we I shall try and make it to London again. They made me feel very welcome!

I second everything thats said about the Racers.
I like watching games in the BikeShed, and I thought there was a great atmosphere there on Sunday, certainly more atmosphere I would imagine than 3000 people in the HOS!!
A special mention to the guy who sells the programmes and magazines. he always makes a point of saying hello, asks if youve had a good journey, and looks forward to seeing you again.
I always think thats a nice touch. Much better than being slagged off because you dont happen to support the Steelers dont you think!

Just a comment I'll leave it to the viewers to consider the differences. Phone over to Amien to order the first ones in See you across the water. HL

HL, Why do you always, or more recently, try and turn and thread into lets all hate on the steelers? We're not all bad you know, I have many a friend from Nottingham and I do not slag the Panthers off, I might dislike you on the ice but off the ice I get on well with some panthers. And your arena staff have always been pleasant to me. I'm sorry if ours are not so to you (I don't know what our staff are like to away supporters) but you shouldn't go messing up someone elses thread.
As for the atmoshpere issue: In the smaller buildings there will always be a better atmosphere than in the HOS because people are more enclosed than in the HOS, so it's not really a good comparison.
so back on topic:
This was a nice thread about how nice the people are in London, I can't say if thats true having not been but all the reports I've heard about them have been excellent. I hope that I can enjoy London's hospitality soon, but only if I can get a friday off to go down.

Afraid you'll just have to ignore HL Helen - we do HL has this thing about Dave Simms.... there seems to be no cure for it, although a long weekend in Amiens will do a great deal to relieve the symptoms I suspect. ;D He is a grand bloke really and I'm not just saying that because he bought me a drink recently. HL I mean, not DS - still waiting for him to buy me a drink.... Back on topic - I've yet to visit the smoke for a Racers game but have heard nothing but good about the Racers organisation. They seem to be a credit to our sport - well done to all concerned.

Lisa, Not sure if you've seen them or not but Tony Boot's photos from Sunday's game have been put onto the Racers website (under the media link). There are 3 of Connor on there: twix

Thanks, Mark.

And how nice to see our own John Craighead doing his bit for Nottingham binge drinking culture by presenting young Connor with a case of lager, at other venues the fans only get autographs or at best a signed shirt. Good on ya Johnny!! ;D
Sorry couldn't resist - did I mention I can't go to FRANCE!!!
But on a more serious note, all credit to the Racers organisation on Sunday, when I arrived there was quite a hefty queue of people without tickets waiting to buy and go in. This was taking ages as there is only one ticket booth.
What did they do?
Make us wait? Postpone the start of the game?
NO, guys came out and sold tickets up and down the line so we could walk straight in, great service.
Cant wait to go again.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to the London Racers especially Mr Roger Black. He even called us at home to help us with our tickets, and when we arrived there he was on the door meeting and greeting... we couldn't believe it. The atmosphere was brilliant and we will definately be travelling there again. Well Done London the personal touch was much appreciated.
