CN says news of our last d man is imminent , and paperwork is on the way back, so let the guessing begin.... wheres Bill when you need him lol Pidge, not sure you are reading it right.....the OS says "IF" we get the papework back....not that it's "ON" its way back..... To me the article simply says we've offered a contract and are waiting a decision... pedantic I know....but I'm bored...

just listening to the Gary Moran update on the OS, i have to say i'm disappointed that Corey only has a list of 3 or 4 potential defencemen not in the 1000's like Ryan

I think Corey will go back for Brock Wilson Rumours like this from far left field annoy me. Atleast give some reasoning behind why you think he could end up here!!

Are you serious? We are in the small budget EIHL, not the KHL. Some of the players on this list have played in the NHL this year or last year while the majority of them are on 2-way NHL/AHL contracts So we (Nottingham Panthers) with the highest average gates in the league cannot afford an AHL D man but Sheffield Steelers (mark 6 or whatever number the most recent new company is) can?

The difference is that the player Sheffield has signed was on a AHL deal or an AHL/ECHL deal, he has also probably joined because he thinks he won't ever make it to the NHL. The players who were listed above were mainly players on NHL/AHL deals who will be earning good money at the moment and know that they have a good chance of making the NHL sometime in their career. For example the player Stu Bickel in that list just signed with the New York Rangers

Pure speculation Bill to justify your comments re: players panthers can allegedly afford..
I am with ftm on this one, if its good enough for steelers and giants (and i suspect blaze) then it should be good enough for panthers but hey ho panthers have obviously spent what will in effect generate a profit and steelers look again to spend what will win the league....

not one to correct you Rob but we dont do defence whilst we have Corey in charge, we had a very tight defence when blaiser had that year with us, problem then though was once tess had left we had no offence...

I know roughly what can be afforded, stu Bickel is on a contract worth $600,000, you actually think we could sign a player like that? Also our fowards look a hell of alot more expensive then Sheffield who have just signed a bunch of CHLers, show me one player on the Sheffield roster with a resume half as good as heerema's
