Its 3-3 Panthers came back from being 2-0 and brought it back to 2-2 and then took the lead. racers have just scored. Ahlroos, Ivan and Calle scored ours, all in the space of 4:16 Lol DoUrden

Back in my hotel after watching tonights game.
A quick summary
1st period: Quite frankly we were awful. The less said the better. GM had a face of thunder as her stormed to the locker room!
2nd Period: The team turned up!! Lovely flowing hockey, great goals, Nottingham does have a pro hockey team!
3rd Period: Dug in, 4-3 up after 13 secs. Threw it away on a powerplay (again). Hung in there and Ivan tucked in the winner. A fantastic away support raised the roof.
Overall a hard won 2 points against a good team.
One down side: London scored on 2 powerplays, we couldnt score on two 5 on 3s. Lets get PP and PKs sorted please.
I'm a happy Lair, and I'm off to force down a couple of Pints of the black stuff before bed time.
Amiens here we come!!

Yeah I guess GM must have hit the dressing room at the end of the first and spelled out who was getting on a plane home.
London appeared to be trying hard to wind up Myers inparticular early on and other players as it progressed and he wouldn't bite. Our poor powerplay didn't capitalise on the chances created by London's indiscipline and very poor refereeing by Thompson (again) encouraged the foul play. I'd be interested to know how Maxwell smacking Calle in the mouth ends up a 2 minute penalty to Calle for high sticks.
Tough game and two well deserved points. Tough competition for MoM but Craighead looked much better than in any of the other games I've seen so far this season.

No doubt about it.....a much needed win (especially as it mattered for the CC.....had we lost tonight then it would have been difficult to qualify for the CC semis.....but we didn't !!!).
A much better display than at Bracknell last week, although the opposition not as good. Racers tried a few 'rough' tactics, but our lot did pretty well in keeping calm (although a rare 2 for Roughing for #77 !).
Still a bit to go in terms of being fluent for more than one period.....as HL said, we were poor in the first but very good in the second. A fairly even 3rd, but we definitely deserved the win. JC did do well (although my MoM would have been Ivan).

yeah hopefully! can't believe he only got 2 mins in box, is this the craighead we r used to??? ;D I herd a rumour that JC was banned from getting involved in any of the ruff stuff. Not sure on the truth behind this but, does sort of fit to what I saw last night. My one and only comment last night..... We looked like a TEAM and a team that wanted to WIN.

I think the game turned at two key points.
Firstly the five minute period in the second period where you scored three quick goals.
Secondly around the mid-point of the third period: Ian McIntyre (or his stick) appeared to be held at the far post preventing him taking an easy chance that would have made it 5-4 to us. No goal and no penalty. Almost immediately we found ourselves two men down and you got the final goal ten seconds from the end of the second penalty.
Anyway a cracking game and a bigger than normal crowd (encouragingly it seemed to me that the increase was NOT just the travelling Panthers).
And for the Craighead knockers, I've now seen him five times and am still to see any evidence of laziness. All I see is a man who more often than not seems to be in the right place at the right time - in the final few minutes he made a couple of excellent defensive plays to snuff out any chance of a recovery from us. There is a difference between 'effortless' and 'lazy'.

We had 3 instances of 5 on 3 last night, each lasting a minute or so. We couldn't take advantage and if we had, obviously the scoreline wouldn't have been so close. To give London credit, we could learn from how well they defended. As for the offences that resulted in the 5-on-3's, well, my opinion of Dennis Maxwell, Tremblay etc are best not aired on a family forum.

Can anyone who was at the game confirm whether or not Myers got punched in the face and his nose started bleeding??

The only blood incident was when Krullis got hit in the head by the puck and after bleeding on the ice, had to leave the rink, presumably to recieve stitches.
