.......I thought you may be interested in an article in todays Daily Star about the incident on saturday it reads-
NOTTINGHAM star John Craighead will face trial by video this week after he left Guilford goalie Miroslav Bielik spreadeagled on the ice.
The fiery American was chucked out of the Panthers National Cup clash against British National League Guilford less than two minutes from time.
Panthers were leading 7-2 and Craighead was booed by some of his own fans as he trudged to the dressing room.
The ugly incident sparked a war of words between the twoclubs as Elite League disciplinary bosses prepare to decide whether to take further action against the American.
Slovakian star Bielik was out cold for nearly two minutes, but he recovered to see out the game and was back in the nets on sunday night.
Flames coach Stan Marple said "There should be something done but it's out of our jurisdiction. Thats down to the Elite League.
"He ran our goalie from behind for no reason. It was a very cheap shot.
"We didn't have a tough guy in the line-up and i'm sure he wouldn't do it against someone like Belfast."
Nottingham are convinced the official video will clear their controversial winger and show that there was minimal contact and that Bielik made a meal of it.
Panthers coach Paul Adey said "If Craighead gets a further ban, it will be travesty."
For one he didn't recover to finish the match almost sure the back up netminder replaced him for the last two minutes, i may be wrong.
And secondly it was so bad Bielik played the following night LOL ;D
